It is partially and Cade deserves some of it. He isn’t patient in the pocket and reading progressions quickly. He’s not identifying blitzes. He’s not reading the zone read well. He’s not reading called runs well either. He’s a panicky player right now. I honestly think you saw that going tempo helped him and we should lean in on that for the rest of the season.

Now the PRIMARY problem is the Oline and particularly run blocking. It is terrible technique and terrible effort.

OP said we should blame Cade, so addressed that and he has room for improvement regardless of Oline play. That said, the Oline is the main issue and affects the QB. That said, Cade is light years better than DJ imo.

There is no pocket. Cade did a better job not staring down his receivers yesterday, I saw improvement in his game. but then again State's defense was not nearly as fast as Miami's. Regardless, until the offense learns to block, both at receiver and upfront, we will have a tough time moving the ball. You have to Go back to 2008 to find a line that Pass protects worse than this one. Sadly, a lot of it is missed assignments or not knowing the play, and it does not help when our right tackle is getting beat every other snap, literally. Again, look back to 2008 when Cullen Harper was running for his life and throwing the ball out of bounds every other play after being named pre-season ACC Player of the year.

I also forgot to say coaching. We are not coaching aggressively on offense (may be related to Oline).
