CLEMSON, S.C. – In their second doubleheader of the season, the Clemson Tigers came out victorious as they secured wins over Radford, 7-0 and Georgia Southern, 6-1. In both matches, Clemson secured the doubles point and recorded multiple victories in singles. This also marks the Tigers second doubleheader sweep of the 2024 campaign.

“It feels great to be back home,” Head Coach Brandon Wagner said. “It feels great to play our first match outside because it is a really cool environment. It’s a night match with great fans and great energy all around. Today was just a really good step in the right direction for our group in terms of their competitive spirits. It is something we have been working on and trying to make better and better each match and today we took a step in the right direction with that. We are definitely happy to get another doubleheader win and play back at home.”

Clemson 7, Radford 0

The Tigers brought the heat early as they were quick to secure the doubles point against Radford. The freshmen duo of Stewart Aronson and Marko Mesarovic was first to secure a victory as they took down the Highlander pairing of Tom Saporta and Manfredi Vergine, 6-1.

Clinching the doubles point for Clemson was the pairing of Wissam Abderrahman and Max Damm as they secured a 6-2 victory on court three against Radford’s Robert Hagen and Filippo Marangoni.

In singles, the Tigers continued to shine as they dominated all courts. The first to earn a win was Matt Pitts as he took down his opponent 6-2, 6-0 and he did not allow Vergine a single point in the second set.

Following Pitts, Ryuhei Azuma was the next Tiger to secure a victory as he won his match on court one, 6-3, 6-3. Freshman Marko Mesarovic sealed the win for the Tigers as he defeated Robert Hagen 6-4, 6-2 on court three to increase Clemson’s lead 4-0.

The Tigers continued their success against Georgia Southern as they took an early 1-0 lead after securing their second doubles point of the day. The duo of Damm and Abderrahman was first to secure a win as they took down the Eagle duo of Laurent Julia Calac and Matthew Mitchell, 6-1.

Officially securing the doubles point for Clemson was the freshman duo of Mesarovic and Aronson as they topped the pairing of Pol Del Castillo and Dimitris Paliouras in an electric, 6-3 victory.

For the second time of the day, Pitts was the first to earn a singles victory as he took down his opponent 6-3, 6-2. Following the win on court six, Abderrahman was next to secure a victory and a point for Clemson as he defeated Del Castillo 6-4, 6-3 to increase the lead to 3-0.

Georgia Southern is pretty decent actually. They gave Texas A&M a tougher match than us and A&M is top 15.

SMU Sunday is important
