in Vietnam . . . Turk Pettit will “tee it up” at 7:20am at the KN Golf Links in Vietnam . . . they are 13 hours ahead of us on the East Coast . . . so we can begin following Turk @ 6:20pm tonight . . .

Skeeta. tks for info. Funny aside. I was in Vietnam 68-69 and wanted soooo much to call home and speak with family & GF. Military had the MARS type connection like a CB radio. Tried 4 times and never got thru. 13 hr time difference was difficult to manage for me.

Finally, I was leaving VN to next day, and direct phone lines were available but the lines were hours long. Heck with that. I called my folks/GF when I finally arrived in San/Fran. Got home to fam in NC and parents/siblings were glad to see me.

I found my girl friend just like I left her the year before.. Freshly screwed.. Oh well..

WT .... I was there in 1970 Chu Lai, Tam Ky, DaNang and I left there on December 23, 1970 and arrived in Okinawa on December 22 or left Okinawa on 23 and arrived in San Francisco on the 22nd ..... can't remember.

I'm not sure I would want to play on any of the golf courses there without a mine detector. I did not put any mines in the ground (some Claymore on top though), but I sure removed a bunch ...... mactually blew them in place.

Good luck to Turk and all of our other pros this weekend.

He found 2 more birdies on his closing 9 . . . but ran into a double bogey which stalled his efforts . . . He is in great shape heading into the 2nd Round and has got to be pleased with his effort so far!!!
