Three Tigers Named to Inaugural ACC Preseason Watch Lists

Clemson, S.C. – Three Tigers were named to inaugural ACC Preseason Watch Lists, it was announced today by the league office. Also, in voting conducted by the league’s head coaches, Clemson has been tabbed third in the inaugural ACC Preseason Poll.



Redshirt senior Rebecca Wells and junior Lauren Rutherford were named to the Preseason Watch List after transferring to Clemson from Utah State and NC State, respectively. As a junior at Utah State, Wells earned the MRGC All-Around trophy and captured seven all-around titles in the 2022 season, four on vault.



Rutherford was a three-time All-EAGL honoree at NC State and a six-time All-EAGL Tournament honoree. Her freshman season (2022), Rutherford claimed First Team All-EAGL honors on both floor and bars. In her sophomore season (2023), she earned seven podium appearances for the Wolfpack.



Redshirt freshman Lilly Lippeatt was named to the Newcomer Watch List. The Mason, Ohio, native is a ​​three-time USA National Team Member who has competed with the US Senior team and won gold in 2021 at the Gymnix International.



The Tigers enter the season ranked 35th in the WGCA Preseason Poll and open their inaugural season on January 12, hosting William & Mary inside Littlejohn Coliseum for an Orange Out.
