I believe the correct call would have been a pooch punt by Watson out of the shotgun. I was totally expecting this

Auburn having 80 yds to go with no timeouts and 40 seconds pretty much means that's the only shot they were gonna get. I'll risk that over a blocked kick and better field position for Auburn.

time down, kick FG, then kick off with time for one more longer play and one hail mary, which is likely meaningless anyway. Those were the best odds. Worrying abut a FG block is baloney in that situation, and that wasn't Dabo's thinking either.

We made two very stupid mistakes down the stretch that forced this game to go down to the wire. Boulware roughing the passer call helped them score the td that brought them to within 6. If Gallman stays inbounds they would have only had about 10 seconds to work with after we ran a play on 4th down. I agree with kicking the field goal but our own stupidity caused it. Stay inbounds and then on 4th run the sweep to kill a few more seconds and then Alburn gets maybe one play.
