report on several employees. Not sure why. Never really know why they ask for some things, but if the data is there - I'll get it for you.
In doing this, I noticed that a recent regime change placed a COO type above me on the org chart. He admittedly doesn't know what I do, and also admits to not wanting to micro manage the IT side of things here. Fine with me, I have plenty to keep busy.
Strangely - this guy makes quite a bit less than I do. In cahoots with other personnel here, they have recently removed me from some "managerial" tasks and I no longer have to go to some meetings. Fine by me, but they are now asking that I step away from an ISO steering committee as well. Normal enough, except that committee is currently driving about 80% of my task load. Compliance wise, ERP, etc... I am honestly not sure why they would remove me, other than me stating the obvious (speaking the truth about lack of use, wrongful use, and many other things) and possibly ruffling feathers. But, I do know they need me to interface with our systems to provide what they need.
Feels like I am being pushed away in a sense. Why not just let me go, if I'm not needed though? Any of youn's ever dealt with release in such regard? Would they be trying to make me quit before firing me as to not have to pay unemployment or something.

Same pay with less work could be a bad sign or it could be a blessing. It very well could just be a change for making change. I've found that "new management" often changes things unnecessarily just to put their stamp on it. It's how some people justify having their job when they don't actually have enough work to do.

he does have this narcissistic quality of needing to be instantly appreciated for his work. Granted, this is killing my work, but more power to him.
After 12 years here, it just seems different.
Probably over thinking it.
I'm still down to head out west for a pot farm though.

Sales guys, meanwhile, come and go in shorts and t-shirts. Seemingly always visiting customers in Florida.
Must be nice, I guess.

In wholesale regime changes, you're either on the inside

or the outside.
Sounds like you're on the outside---it's a dangerous place to be. If you want to move to the inside, you need to start networking with someone that matters in the new regime, and fast.
Right now you're seen as a relic of the old guard that they were hired to replace. It doesn't matter what you do or the quality of how you do it, you're tainted by their perception.

talking to them about changes you'd like to see made from how things "used to be".
If you spend your time telling them about how you used to do it, and how tight a ship you've always run, your fate is sealed.

it would seem the owner is the insider I have though.
He doesn't like confrontation, and would never call the meeting to fire someone. He'd have someone else handle it for him.
He has been approaching me with his side project boat design, and wants me to build and simulate models and CFD sims. (I actually posted about all that crap when making my deal dough 3d print natty trophy). So, maybe they are just pushing me to another role away from day-to-day operations.
Fine with me I 'spose

if you get forced out.
OR
Make a backup copy of some important files that you created. Delete the files from the company servers. Make sure that they know/think that you're the only one that can recreate this data. Milk it for as long as possible.
Definitely get the resume out there, for reals though.

most of that is already in place.
Backups - done deletes from server - pending resume - done
was being courted by a company out of Charlotte, that caused me to update resume some time back. I have already reached back out to them to gauge interest.
milking - in progress

Wait, you make more than the COO.

A. That is the problem.
II. Just sit around and collect huge checks until you get "downsized" Keep track of everything saying you aren't to do certain stuff anymore so you have evidence that it wasn't your productivity that went down, but what you were assigned.

Not his technical title. If that were the case, I'd be CTO. but, I digress....
Seems consensus to stay and milk it. So, I'll agree for now. Evidence in quantity of t-net posting today.
