reminder that some (many?) of these young men are coming from very rough background and upbringings, and face challenges just to arrive alive on campus that many of us will ever know.

It also makes Dabo's position on football even more impressive and important in today's game; that coaches aren't just one more person to use these gentlemen and then lose them. That the coach's job, and the job of the football program, is to give these kids a way out of gang violence, poverty, and drugs with either an education a real chance for long-term success.

Dabo has a unique ability to have a few conversations with these kids that has grown up, and raised around a thug life atmosphere, that he hits on probably 95% of them that's serious about wanting to get away from that life style, and wanting a better life for themselves, and their future families.

Since Dabo has been the head FB coach Clemson, he has only lost maybe a dozen of those types of kids that just couldn't for what ever the reason be rehabilitated. Dabo's hit or miss recorded out hundreds of those kids that's come from projects has been nothing short of a miracle. Dabo Swinney has a special talent for saving young men that could have easily fell through the cracks, and never heard about again. Even the ones that didn't make it to the next level, most of them are now having a successful lives far away from the troubled lives they could have been lost forever without Dabo entering their lives!!!

Terry Don Phillips last HC hire in Dabo Swinney, was the best hire of his career!!!

These guys are coming from situations where they almost instinctively can sniff out bad people who just want to use and abuse them. For a personality as big as Dabo's (and as many haters in the media he has), you know there would be stories out there from recruits that he was a big phony if it was all an act. Instead, you hear NOTHING but love and praise from the gents he's mentored as a coach. It's because Dabo has the receipts. He came from nothing, and remembers it. Recruits know they're playing for a guy who understands them even if his skin color is different, and the love he has for his players is absolutely real.

That's why all these fakers who think they can replicate the dabo model by cutting loose and being the "cool guy" will fail miserably -- looking at you Brian Kelly. They're fake, and these guys will smell it out in an instant.
