Former Alabama edge rusher Tim Williams shared his feelings about the current state of Alabama program on social media.

"I love Alabama football... History. The tradition. I didn't go to Alabama just because of the NFL pipeline," Williams tweeted.

"I went because of the discipline, the rings, the championships. I just can't watch the team now because they ain't playing for ALABAMA... They playing for NIL deals."

I lot of us and a lot of college teams fans feel this way!

You can't blame the kids though... no different than an NFL player not attending training camp or practice when they are under contract b/c they feel they are being underpaid.

You do whats best for you is what most people do. Its playing the short game.

Dabo is trying to fight that human instinct in his program and is playing the long game. Probably a big reason why he doesn't accept many portal players. He is doing what he thinks is right in the best interest of the kids' long term development.

If a kid committs to Clemson and does things the right way, Dabo commits to the kid. Probably a lot of the reason behind why he is slower than many would like to pull the trigger on benching seniors for younger players.

Also probably a big reason why he has former players as much as possible on his staff. They know the culture.

It isn't the quick and easy road up the mountain, but it is the way he does things and he has earned the right to do it the way he wants.
