FSU most likely will bail to Big 12

Dec 11, 2012, 12:15 PM

here is why, FSU has big 12 ties -
1. Texas coach Mack Brown is FSU grad.
2. FSU is all about football and lately ACC is not relevant in football.
3. Big 12 is currently 10 and actively looking. Winning at big 12 means a shot at national championship game.

jimbo would be fired within 2 years if they go to the big 12.

that man is a terrible coach. Given their talent and schedule, there is no excuse for them not to be in the NC game this year.

and Clemson will follow?

Dec 11, 2012, 12:18 PM

as our AD is out begging people to purchase tickets to travel 100 miles down the road to a bowl game...

Also, Leonard Hamilton once coached at Oklahoma State. That should guarantee it.

this is ridiculous. Mack Brown being TX coach

Dec 11, 2012, 12:19 PM

has no bearing whatsoever in FSU staying or leaving.

and also, if you beat NCST, they could be playing for the NC THIS year.

Maybe if FSU could beat NSCT and WAKE FORREST the past 10 years, they'd be in better shape.

I don't get the Mack Brown thing either......

Dec 11, 2012, 12:25 PM

But I don't think ol' Mack's gonna be headin' up Longhorn football much longer if they don't start putting some results on the field...and soon. That guy was practically given a plum coaching job and, while he got off to a decent start, s
Texas has certainly tailed off recently----and you're probably talking about the most football crazy-state in the country---recruiting should NEVER be a problem for them

I just read that Mike O'Cain may be HC at App State. Does

Dec 11, 2012, 12:41 PM [ in reply to this is ridiculous. Mack Brown being TX coach ]

that mean that Clemson will be a good fit for the Southern Conference? Go Tigers!

"Texas coach Mack Brown is FSU grad" - no offense, but

Dec 11, 2012, 12:19 PM

that is officially the stupidest reason I have ever heard to support anything. Ever.

Dec 11, 2012, 12:22 PM

And Chief Osceola rides a horse, and what do cowboys ride? You guessed it...horses. There are lots of cowboys in Texas. It's all so clear now...thanks OP!!

Cowboys don't like indians - there is a con here

Dec 11, 2012, 12:23 PM

Oklahoma State will vote against it for this reason.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

mack seems to be on pretty shaky ground in austin. idk if

Dec 11, 2012, 12:25 PM

fsu ends up the big12ish or not. i would like to know if either of the big12ish contracts, tv and champions bowl, require a conference championship game.

if either does, 12 is the nc2a's number to have one.

Re: FSU most likely will bail to Big 12

Dec 11, 2012, 12:32 PM

BCS guru Brad Edwards has stated that winning your conference championship games doesn't help your BCS ranking much... but losing it does. this is why the Big 12 isn't rushing to get a championship game.

Notre Dame

Dec 11, 2012, 1:02 PM

Notre Dame has the best deal in college sports right now. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Texas goes independent in football and shops their other sports out to either the Big 10 or ACC. In fact, they're hurting themselves not doing that. I could see Penn St. doing the same thing. The next problem for conferences isn't losing teams to expansion, it's the mega-programs going independent.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Your reason #1 is horrible. As for your reason #3, how did

Dec 11, 2012, 12:35 PM

that work for Okie St last year? Which B12 championship winning team is in the NC game this year? The reality is, if FSU takes care of business against an awful NCSU team, as opposed to pulling an FSU, then they would've gone into the Florida game playing for a spot in the NC. Even out of the ACC.

Don't get me wrong, I hate the ACC, but you're logic is flawed.
