The vast majority of us prefer football over soccer because we were born and raised in a country where football is the most popular sport. The flopping is inexcusable, but people who think soccer is boring usually don't have a good understanding of the game. There are things a person might reasonably dislike about football, too. The constant stoppages of play and commercial breaks, for example, are off-putting to a lot of people who aren't used to it.

The flopping is what most people who have no idea how soccer works say. Theres actually a lot of shenanigans that go on during a game: some fouls are deliberate, some are coincidental, some are a flop, and some are all of the above. If you dont watch soccer on the regular you’re gonna have no clue whats going on. Its like trying to explain the difference between a regular and no huddle offense to someone whose never watched American football: to them it all looks the same

Huge soccer guy myself. It’s called “the beautiful game” and if you understand how it’s played you kind of see where that comes from. You were watching top tier talent and there is a lot of good to great soccer players even in the US that will never make it kinda of like baseball players. Not everyone has been around it and it’s understandable not to like something you may not even know the rules of.
I would think I may like to watch hockey but do not do it very often because I lack the knowledge of the game.
Most popular sport in the world by far but way behind other sports in the US. MLS is up and coming and I believe its popularity is slowly growing. For the most part I enjoy most competition but nothing beats women’s beach volleyball. It is a must see if you have never watched it.

I understand football has to pay some enormous bills but if you look at the net worth of some of the best soccer clubs in the world they are up there monetarily with what appears to be less commercialization. I say that to say that American football has way to much stoppage time imo. I kind of think it’s unfair for the guy that pays to go to the games to have to sit and wait and watch the guy in red hold up a timer on when we will resume play. Players may enjoy the break but dang it seems they could do better.
Some of your flops are to intentionally slow the game down because there are no time outs. 45 minute halves is a lot of running for your mids and front line guys.
