Things Are Not What They Seem

May 2, 2020, 7:21 AM

As a 72 year old, former Marine Sgt, Vietnam veteran, I wanna pass on some wisdom.

Those who are lucky to get to speak with Dabo, Please don't confuse a blessing with luck. My mother-in-law always corrected me when I said I was lucky. I know I have an ex-wife but my mother-in-law said she never divorced me.

When I see young people running around thinking the virus won't touch them cause of their age.

Remember underlying conditions?

On my 69th birthday I found out I had a heart condition that requires me to closely monitor my heart.

I have and have had an "Aortic Aneurysm" for 72 years, I was born with it.

Problem is I only found out about the condition after 69 years.

I played basketball in middle school & high school.

I went through Marine Corps basic training, spent a tour in Vietnam, didn't start caring for my high blood condition til I was in my 50's.

Nobody told me about my condition, when you hear things like "Aortic Aneurysm", you will freak.

So if you think the virus is a problem for dirty old black men like me, please "THINK!!".

Stay home and let the rest of us get on with life. To be a Marine, you sound soft. Will all respect of course. Thank you for your service sir, but stand down on this one.

Semper Fi. My 1st cousin was a marine in Vietnam. He went back recently. Said everybody was very friendly to him. He enjoyed his visit. The first visit was a nightmare. He was involved in some nasty fire fights. I appreciate all vets. Really impressed with his marine compadres. They are family. Enjoy your time in the Lounge. We are a crude bunch. :)

Everyone needs one of those preferably in high school. It would have detected your anurism. It also detects enlarged hearts which have killed several NFL players. Many people go through life with heart conditions only to learn about them far later than they should have. They take maybe 15 minutes and show and diagnose so much more than a simple stress test.

If she's a hollerer, she'll be a screamer.
If she's a screamer, she'll get you arrested.
