They can't hit the ### baseball,it's not that hard to figure

Out why they are struggling. They were outscored 17-5 this weekend..could only manage, what, one run against Winthrop the game before. They have settled into a small ball-fast player approach to recruiting and it's getting them killed offensively. Yes, of course you do need SOME fast-small ball players, but not all of them! Look at the lineup, where is the power?? Duggar? Boulware? They're the two best hitters, that's it. And they're not power guys. I watched good pitch after good pitch go by our hitters this weekend without even a twitch of the bat. They have no aggresiveness(except Duggar) and they have no power(except Reeder and God forbid you put him in, he might hit the ball hard or something). Just fast guys, but what does that matter if the fast guys can't hit the ball to get on base?

What's not hard to figure out is that Jack loves small ball, and he is not going to change!

Jack's loved small ball for years, but

it seems like our best teams over the past 10 years have had some guys who could knock some home runs. On the '06 CWS team we had D'Alessio, Colvin, and Harbin who could all kill the ball. On the '10 CWS team we had Kyle Parker and Schaus who were power hitters. As I was talking with someone during Friday's game, we don't have power hitters. Nothing wrong with playing small ball, but you need someone to be able to get that big HR every now and then. With the new bats over the past few years, small ball gets even smaller and it's hard to compete with a team that has power. Hopefully Jack finds a power guy on the roster before the ACC season starts.

Guess you missed the part where the bats have been deadened and wr play in s very large ball park. Coach leggett is leading the effort to make the bats livelier and we will be moving the fences in after this season. I know these are just small details some of you can't comprehend buy they are facts.

Re: The BBCOR bat argument doesn't fly with me anymore,

Have they changes things? Yes, when they first hit the scene 3-4 years ago. But every year since then they have gotten hotter and hotter each model year. A 2013 BBCOR bat is quite a bit hotter than a 2010 model. Can you hit one out off the handle? No, but it's not near the argument now that it was 3 years ago. And as far as movin the fences in? Terrible idea

True but 5 of the 6 we scored were unearned.......one earned run in 27 innings. Not very good!
