Just ran by Costco a little while ago. On the way out I noticed all Interstate batteries were $89.
Just putting this out there in case anyone, anyone at all completely at random with no pre-existing names in my head whatsoever, needs a new car battery.

Why do some interstate batteries only have a 12 month warrantry?

I assume that's the battery you saw.
Normally, you think, oh Interstate, that's a good battery. But it seems they are in the cheap battery business.

If I know I’m not going to be driving a car for more than a couple days I hook it up to a battery tender. Hooked all the cars up to one last week when I was in Colorado.
Boat batteries get the same treatment. I’m on 6th season right now on the same boat batteries.

Something ain't right here.
A bare bones battery for electronics or for cranking should be lasting you I'd think 5 or more years. Maybe less on electronics if you are using your boat and draining the batteries a lot....like say 3X per week.
Maybe storage is the issue here? Do you not keep them on a trickle charge? Possible salt and extreme temps (if stored outdoors) don't help the cause, but 15 monts don't seem right.
Also, Optimax. Blue tops. Get cornholed at initial investment, no worries for a decade after though.

The cranking batteries both went about 5 years.
The trolling batteries only went 2 or 3 years. Mainly because I abused them by draining them too low before recharging. I think that's why they lowered their warranties on marine batteries.
