Theater style chairs for Death Valley....

...to replace the benches,: will it ever happen and has it even been discussed? I think it's a natural upgrade...

I dont think it will happen, because I believe it will decrease the seats in Death Valley. The seat backs they set up appear to be just right at the seat limit, and they dont have an arm rest. I also think there might be an issue with the space in front of the seat.

I would admit that I would welcome the seat. I am getting older and the benches seem like they get harder each year. <img border="> I would also love the built in cupholder in the seat in front if there was room.

Then again, I dont sit down unless its a Time-out or half time. So I am good with putting the resources some place else if it helps the teams.

Go Tigers!

Totally agree. I even paid the $60 or so extra for the permanent seat back last year. What a waste of money! I only sit on it during halftime and those 3+ minute TV timeouts.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This is why Michigan will never do it.

They take pride in their 107,601 capacity despite a stadium where the sq ft of the seating area is on par with most stadiums that seat 20-25,000 less

Never happen. Will eliminate too many seats.

and, if memory serves, the decision was made not to do it largely because of the decrease in seating capacity that would result.

Why would we give up thousands of seats and millions of dollars in revenue?

Because the upper deck corners are rarely filled anymore and it's not just noticeable at Clemson. I have noticed it at many stadiums and we all know the problems with the hill half vacant for a while now. You charge more money for premium seats.

I use the seat backs as you need something to protect your space or fat fans will swallow you up.

I’ve brought this up at numerous iptay rep meetings and the loss of seats would be disastrous.

More and better restrooms would be great also but …..

I like what Tennessee did with the party deck in a section of their upper deck and I believe Miss St put in open air standing terraces for families/fans on the ends of their upper deck. There are creative things that could be done.

So does the Presidents box but you don’t get a lot of invites to sit there

All the new seats in the future will be individual seating ... but where and when?

That would be a good idea to put in the corner sections above the tunnels.

Too early to tell. If fans stop coming to games because of how college football is going downhill with all the portal and NIL bull#*&+, I can see capacity going down. I always thought that NFL stadiums were bigger than college, but the first time I went to Charlotte for a game, I read that there capacity is less than ours.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It would definitely give it a more polished look and feel.

I think a lot of people would be willing to pay more for individual seats with arm rests and cup holders, especially if there were also more concession amenities like more gourmet food options. The premium would hopefully offset the decrease in seating capacity.

It will never happen, but it would be nice to see.

I rarely go to an athletic event for the food but I guess a good pot roast at half time would be ok!

I think having concession sales in the seating areas would be a good move but I suspect there isn’t room for that. Even at major league games drinks are sold by kids walking the aisles.
The concession areas are so crowded now that it requires a long wait to get a drink.

Rest rooms is another matter. When you get a few years on you ... when you gotta go you GOTTA GO!

Still no place like Death Valley on a fall afternoon.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

What should be added is a hand rail down the middle of the aisles!***
