(Northwestern) was sent to face Alabama and Montana Fouts in their Super Regional . . .

Northwestern took them down 3-1 just a bit ago . . . Oh that we could have had that draw!!!

I think anyone is going to have to beat OU two out of three. Whether it’s now or later doesn’t really matter. They basically have home field from here on out.

It does matter. You always want to go farther

Getting to OKC would’ve been a big step

Depends on your view. I personally would rather have better team win before advancement if it meant getting outclassed just for the sake of being there.

Nothing wrong with tipping your cap. Beating a lesser opponent just to get into a "higher round" does nothing but bring false optimism next year. If you can't beat said team in this round, it shouldn't matter who it is. Play to be the best. Loser mentality is wanting to advance a round further based on favoritable matchup.

Definitely don’t agree with that

Getting to OKC is a goal in and of itself. We are certainly not in “national title or bust” category as a program. And really nobody is except Oklahoma.

Would’ve been better to face a similar program in the supers for a test and see what we could do and then face the more elite teams in OKC.

I wouldn’t call having a chance at more games vs more equal to us opponents “false optimism”.

I appreciate your opinion . . .

and you voicing it here. I am also good with you telling me I have a “loser mentality” . . . I DO NOT agree with this assessment, but I am good with it.

Like T_I_P said . . . reaching the Softball CWS is a GOAL all to itself . . . and I wanted that GOAL to be reached . . . So each of Our Gals could say, “We Did It . . . Now let’s take the next step.” Growth at this level is in steps or stages . . . rarely are the steps omitted.

I’m ok with my “loser mentality”. Keep posting tv484 . . .

Actually, with the current infancy of our program, (despite us being awesomely awesome!) going farther will always help. ( football that’s another story!!) For CU, brand, ritmans pitch to future recruits and etc!!! I’m just pissed that we’ve only been around what, 5 years or less and we’ve drawn them twice in the post season!?? Let’s go tigers!!!

One word, "Recruiting"! Make it to OKC and the program is perceived as an opportunity to the elites. Look at what has happened to Bama softball last few yrs, plus the tournament money increases. It's a win-win for the program. If we had to play OU in the CWS, at least it wouldn't be back to back unless in the championship and we would get a chance to play at least one other top team to see where we stack up.

NC State game and va tech series really hurt us, along with tge liberty loss. Then the acc tournament. We really stunk it up to end the season. Plus our weak schedule.

But northwestern, just like uga are completely different teams than what we faced in Feb. Both teams were trying to get their roster settled. New pitchers, personnel etc.

Would we have a better chance at the other teams, perhaps. Probably not 2 out of 3 though since most regional teams that advanced had more than one pitcher.

Agreed, we did not set ourselves up well in the harder games of the season with an easier schedule.

Proud of them. They had more hits than OU has given up all season. Let’s get this one today

No one will beat OU twice and knock them out
