The Republican party is a mess
Feb 8, 2024, 4:03 PM
|
|
Who is the defacto head of the Republican party? If the president is a Republican, then he/she is the defacto head of the party, so that would be Mr Trump. I'd say that he's still the defacto head of the party, especially since the party is backing him for the general election only 2 primaries in to the cycle and almost every Republican elected official is backing him.
And how, exactly, do Republicans expect 4 more years of Trump will benefit the party?? Much less the country.
Trump brought us those great Republicans Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, and who can forget, good ol' Madison Cawthorn. Do we really want more of these?
I'll give that in 2016 he brought in some good people and his presidency accomplished a lot of really good things. But 2024 Trump is a far, far cry from 2016 Trump. Like, light years. There's no comparison. And no way in H-E-double-hockey-sticks that he will do the GOP any good.

Welp, when you don't teach US History or the Constitution or the branches of government people start to believe we live in a democracy instead of a Constitutional Republic. I'd like to see man on the street ask people about the part of the Pledge of Allegiance that is "...and to the Republic for which it stands..." what is it talking about. Ah h3ll who am I fooling, their eyes will glaze over if you mention the Pledge. Fark it.
Stick a fork in it.

There is a hunger for new leadership

The only way the GOP can survive is if new figures like this guy Heath Mayo can find some support across the country and actually get some attention in the media, instead of the media ###### who Fox News trots out every time they need a sound bite. Otherwise, the party is doomed to eat itself.

Say enough lies enough times and people start believing them. Especially if they like the guy starting the lies better.

Sounds good but you don't think you can actually implement that and the party that is polar opposite is going to respect any of that...do you? They'll eat you alive. Some say that Trump applies the left's strategies against them and that what drives them bonkers. They are used to spineless, weak, meek mannered and pattycake opposition from the right. This is why you see never Trumpers on the right because it reminds them of the left's behavior. I can hear them now "oh my!"

That's the dumbest thing I've heard this month

One served in the army, one avoided it like a baby. One paid off the national debt, while the other helped it explode. One worked his way up from poverty and supported the common man. One was married once. One won more than 50% of the popular vote (twice). One believes in the Constitution.

Even with the extra day, I'm not sure I'll hear something so dumb. Of course, I may be proven wrong spending any amount of time on the Politics board and reading this drivel.

South Carolinians can fix it
Feb 8, 2024, 6:56 PM
|
|
… by awarding Nikki Haley all the Sandlapper Delegates.
Doing this will spell the end of Donald Trumpery and will lead to the end of Joe Biden … and will elevate South Carolina from “We like following what other states do” to “National Leadership” status.
All that plus will be good for the Republican Party.

GOP follows trump like they are sheep. “Don, what should we do next?”
Republicans answer to Donald Trump and not American citizens.
The Democrats answer to American citizens and not Joe Biden.
But Fox News will never let a trumper arrive at this this conclusion
