Bottom line- an ACC team will not get the chance to play for a National Championship with a loss on their record. You have to be undefeated-

There's a lot of media that doesn't study and spew things like a 1-loss ACC team can't play for the title. And of course the feather brain fans of Scar run with it. But they're all wrong:

2011: We're #5 in the BCS and not only do we lose, but we get blown out by another ACC team and drop to #11. By week 12 in the we're back up to #7 and shows like college football live, The Experts, etc. starts talking about us playing for the title again. Of course we go on to get blown out by NCSU and Scar so it doesn't matter.

My point is this: At week 12 we were #7. 5 of the 7 in front of us lost after that. If we take care of business and beat NCSU, top 10 Scar, and top 10 VT to close the season there would've never been a LSU/Bama rematch. Those wins would've vaulted us ahead of Bama as they sit at home watching LSU win the SEC championship and Clemson win the ACC championship.

Computers loved us that year. My post specifically said we would've finished the season beating 2 top 10 teams plus NCSU in the final three games. Oklahoma State nor Bama had that going for them to end the season. We would've busted the computers wide open with wins like that.
