The main reasons for the game being close at the end

Oct 16, 2022, 9:44 PM

was because of the facemask penalty on the sack which led to a new set of downs instead of a punt. And a couple of missed tackles that would have prevented first downs.

And the complete lack of holding calls against FSU offense especially in the second half. I was at the game and screamed for holding on most of the biggest FSU plays while they were in progress. The FSU fans around me acknowledged as much.

#79 for FSU did nothing but hold all night.

Brazenly, right in front of the ACC “refs” on every down. Zero calls.
I don’t think he knows how to block without holding at all.

I seen them too. Our secondary has improved. But linebacker tackling is not where it was. They seem to be out of position too often. I miss that cerebral middle linebacker we always have had since the Tajh Boyd era.

They changed to ball control too early - criticized at BC

Oct 16, 2022, 10:03 PM

Shudda kept the tempo and a passing attack with 4 minutes left. I think Dabo was smarting from all the criticism for late TD at BC.

So Dabo gets ripped when his team scores a late touch down and dropped in the standings if the Tigers don't keep their foot on the gas. IMHO, Dabo should not care what anyone says. Just have the team play 60 minutes, late touch down or not. Screw the haters.

THUMBS UPPPPPP !!!!!! FSU is a great team this year given the 2 loses and the Orange is even better, given this and these teams are playing they're Superbowl when they play the Tigers!!

Clemson better be ready for a showdown from start to finish with the Orange Crush. Dino would love nothing better than get to a puff off that cigar and drink from that red solo cup !! :)

Questionable holding call (against us of course)...

Oct 16, 2022, 10:34 PM

That changed a TD to a FG

That call moved it from a 4 score game to a 3 score game (not figuring 3 straight 2 pt conversions).

The 3rd and long run by DJ kept the clock moving when we needed it to. No problem with that call.

I’m not one to complain about Refs, but I’m going to, I’d like to think good calls and bad calls even out over the course of a single game.

But In five games against Power 5 opponents, Clemson’s DL leads the country in pressure rate.

Opposing offenses have been flagged for holding just once.

Now that is a stat that actually has meaning. If I am Dabo I mail that one into the ACC office. I am sick of meaningless stats of how many October days Clemson has been ranked when they play on Friday during the era of the AP poll, etc, etc.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The holding penalty on Miller that cost Clemson 7...

Oct 17, 2022, 7:56 AM

Stupid penalty and there was absolutely no need to hold in that situation.
