The Co Ocs werent that bad, execution was

Outside of some questionable 3rd down QB runs, they called a good game. I liked the new wrinkles of running the triple option with Scott and Gallman in the backfield and placing a lead blocker beside DW4 in a more traditional H-Back/fullback position (but why use our worst blocking TE? That position was made for Williams). Id like to see more motion and eye candy, but overall the Co Ocs put us in position to make plays. DW4 was way off, WRs dropped balls, and their LB mugged Hopper on a no call. If our guys would have executed the plays called, it wouldnt have been a game. Oh and then theres the oline....

us all night to run or go to the perimeter. We did. We won. They have a very good/underrated front 7, btw.

Seemed a bit conservative except for a couple of plays

but that may have to do with us being down to walk-ons on the OL. We don't have too many on scholarship to begin with.

But this long layoff will help us install more plays.

what the defense is defending against. We ran the ball well and took the underneath stuff. If not for some poor execution on our part we would have rolled them.

But I agree, it was refreshing to see our OCs stick to the running game.

I liked the playcalling for the most part

we protected our inexperienced OL by making quick hitting pass plays attacked the LOS with the run game to keep the OL from having to hold blocks got the ball in our playmakers hands. UL kept those plays from busting open for big plays but we were getting solid gains Watson looked a bit slow at first on those QB runs, but attacked must faster in the 3rd and 4th qtr and started to get yardage We just missed on a few plays that would have really opened the game up
Louisville is a talented team. And our playcalling minimized our weaknesses and maximized our strengths.

I'd like to see the stats for balls thrown 10+ yards...

No doubt imo the playcalling kept points off the board for us. The mid field passing seemed to work when we went to it. We just didn't go to it enough.

away the deep ball. I thought the play calling was good, but was hindered by several drive stopping mistakes like drop balls or bad passes. I can think of a few off hand, Leggett wide open for first down and potential yards after catch but DW throws a bad pass, Gallman comes out of back field on 3rd down easily has 1st with room to run and combo of him dropping the ball and DW throwing behind him, I cant remember the play but Peake had a bad drop on a 1st down. There were probably more, but those were just some off hand I could remember.

to prevent the deep passing game. Throw the WR screen and run it until they move up to stop .WE WON,3-0. If we have to win every game that way,I'll take it.

stuck with what was working, Wayne. Lack of execution cost us 14 plus points. Was vanilla with a green offensive line in first road game on a short week on purpose, just as it should have been.
The challenge the next 16 days is look at the pecking order at RB and WR, stay healthy and just get better. Off week actually comes at a good time with the stretch of games coming up

Elliott is in his first year of calling plays. He'll get better. Both Scott(@Blythewood) and Streeter at Richmond have had more experience at it. Elliott will get BETTER.

pull Dabo has with the OC's. I saw him with the huge play card and communicating constantly with the OC's which I don't remember him doing that much with CM. While Dabo is a GREAT HC and CEO of Clemson football, I do not trust his x's and o's and play calling. I believe this is why he was smart enough to find the best OC and DC he could get. If he trusts them to call the plays, let them call the plays. This is all speculation though. He could have just been saying "great call" good play guys"
