DUI advice from a cop (not me)

Jan 21, 2014, 9:12 AM

I have a friend that is a cop and she suggested this when you get pulled over. First off, keep a mini bottle of you favorite drink in your car. If you get pulled over, get it out and wait for the cop to come to your window. With the window still up and the cop watching, open the bottle and drink all of it. Tell the cop you had to do this to calm your nerves. Make sure he is watching. This way, no matter what you blow, you can say it was influenced by what you drank in the car while the cop was watching. Cool, huh?

If drinking, don't drive. Hmm, who'd have thunk it?

Let us not be deceived by phrases about ‘Man taking charge of his own destiny.’ All that can really happen is that some men will take charge of the destiny of others. . . . The more completely we are planned the more powerful they will be. - C.S. Lewis

That's why you don't do this. However

Listerine doesn't count as an open container. Rinsing with this will definitely skew the results, and all you have to claim is you wanted fresh breath before addressing an officer of the law.
