stupider by the minute...After coming back after the weather delay and getting started again and then it being called again because of darkness they have decided to give Wake Forest the championship,instead of finishing it tomorrow morning or having it where both teams ae co-champions.That is what is done in the regular season almost every time or there is some kind tiebreaker... https://results.golfstat.com/public/leaderboards/gsnav.cfm?pg=match&tid=28831&rid=2

to basketball tourney canceled for Covid and FSU was declared champ based on being the 1 seed. They have to have a champ for NCAAT auto bid. Imagine golf is the same. Chances of coming back down 2 matches where you are down 2 with 3 to play is not good.

I'd bet there would be no rule in place if Clemson was the number one seed and the tournament was called because of weather or darkness,the ACC would declare both teams co-champions then.When Wake Forest puts that trophy in their trophy case at their Arnold Palmer Golf facility I hope that they feel an emptiness inside of them knowing that they did not entirely finish the process of what was needed to be done on the course to win the match but rather have humans make a rule that would give them the trophy without finishing the match

Well considering Isabella and Chloe were both 2 down with 3 to play I am sure coming back tomorrow would have made any difference, but who knows?

Not saying it would have been done but it could have easily been done with still 3 holes left to play in those matches.Clemson might could have surprised everyone after being 2 down with 3 to play and comeback with out getting to the point of being dormie

The team should have been the opportunity to compete. No one knows what would have happened. The math indicated that Clemson still had an opportunity to win.

Isabella is mickeys niece, for those that didn't know. Mighty proud of what game that young lady has developed. I definitely didn't count them out 2 dn, 3 to play.
Anyway, it is a rule. It's an ncaa rule that prohibits collegiate golfers from playing more than 3 days... so it couldn't have been played. I'm sure both teams would have loved to finish it outright. But it is painful that it came down to that. It will always come with an asterisk

Like Wake. This comes up off as a lot of whining to me by our fans. The rules on this were known well in advance not something that was just decided at the end of the day. Coming back from 2 down with 3 to play was highly highly unlikely for either player. There were better odds that WF would tie up one of the matches we were leading. At that point Wake is just looking to halve holes. Clemson could have put themselves in position to be the team that got the advantage if the tourney ended prior to match completion by having a better stroke play score than WF. WF beat us in stroke play by 7 strokes. Hope we perform well in regionals and get another shot at them for the NCAA title
