Texas Hill County / Eclipse poast

So finally got around to grabbing my photos.

We stayed on a friend of a friends ranch in Bluffton, TX which is about 15 minutes from Llano, TX. And if that's still BFE Texas, Llano is about 90 minutes from Austin. He's got about 10,000 acres of cattle and deer. The deer are in a 1,600 acre pen with some cows and then the rest is just cattle. You pay somewhere from a couple grand up to $20k to hunt the deer. We didn't hunt because that #### is expensive.

So we booked the ranch in 2018 after the Clemson eclipse. 21 astrologists and astrophysicists from all over (California, Arizona, Germany) camped out on the ranch by us. As an engineer I thought me and my friends were nerds. These fawkers are a whole different level. Super smart.

Hunting anything in a fence is stupid.

That’s not real hunting. Basically pay a shiat ton of cash and get to shoot a trophy animal. Sure if I was billionaire I’d do it for exotics but…

That's my thought too.

Years and years ago they put the fence up on 3 sides of the 1,600 acres. Let it sit for months. Then came in and in one day fenced in the 4th side. Those are all the deer they have.

Some ranches not far from there were way larger and had all kinds of African game on them. They even have giraffes. What kind of loser will shoot a giraffe in a fence?

Hunting with projectile weapons is stupid.

I'm not impressed until you unalive the animal with your bare hands.

Humans can be crafty, so it's way easier to hunt them inside a fence.
