lost at home to a 17-18 SoCon team, same story, can't hit with RISP and costly errors.

Too many good players that have built the program over the last 4/5 years to go out like this.
But they don't look like themselves right now. Something is amiss.

Agree, team chemistry seems to be off. Maybe something to do with the 'mysterious' illness that seemed to affect several players.... but something is off.

It is strange that's for sure. Cagle is definitely not the same player and the Auburn transfer has been a huge disappointment. Knowles was sick and now her and some of the other younger players just look overmatched.
On a positive note, Oda is producing and Maddie Moore is solid. Regan Spencer has been lights out and Millie has been fine. They have a lot of talent but something is wrong. Rittman seems like a great guy but nothing special as far as a field coach but they should able to win most games in spite of that.
It is sad to see Cagle's career seemingly end like this but it may just be one of those years. Kind od reminds me of most of our basketball teams before this last Elite 8 run. Oh well.

Hosting s regional is going to require a huge turnaround. They do have Duke and the second game against the Gamecocks, but nothing right now tells us to be optimistic. The talent level is not equivalent to last season, and injuries and perhaps clubhouse issues have derailed this team from overachieving like they did in the first couple seasons. It’s looking like next season will be a major rebuild. Tonight we had Hiller playing second. She’s only ever played second one other time. That’s just one example of how bare the cupboard is right now.

why is it "mysterious"?
People in college get sick and it spreads like wild fire.
Norovirus and RSV are going around like crazy and they just wrapped up spring break.
Does not seem mysterious at all.

Now we get to go play in the snow, rain, wind at temps in the upper 30s/low 40s. Understanding both teams are affected by weather but it can be an equalizer. Granted Duke held them scoreless but didn't run rule them either.
Last weekend was their home opener with ga tech. They found something and took that series. Weather was nice.
Played a series with bc in chestnut in similar condition this weekend and lost 2-1 , 3-2 respectively b4 beating bc 10-1. We need to sweep them. Lose this series would be really bad. We have only one series left, Duke, that adds to our rpi. The others will drop our rpi, sos.

Tigers have dropped 5 of 8 since the 12 inning loss to the Gamecocks, and this was a stretch of games that should have rebuilt their confidence. Right now it feels like that loss broke this team mentally and injuries are also not helping.

Lost a few one run deals to good competition. Was hoping that would have lit a fire but so far it’s a flicker.

Long way from worrying about hosting but is is clear this team is not what last year's team was at least for now.

Somebody said "something is amiss" and I totally agree. Some upperclassmen have checked out mentally already. Power hitters have become passive and look like slap hitters. Even the fake cheerleading in the dugout seems contrived and pointless. Don't know what happened to Knowler? Is she sick again? Is Cagle still sick? Something happened to flip the switch off. Maybe they will turn it around ......they better hurry!
