could the new helmet rule alone be enough to keep Dabo from rsing Kelly?

Sep 2, 2012, 9:21 AM

It seems like this rule may dramatically increase the importance of 2nd and 3rd string QBs. I understand Stoudts our #2, but if Tajh is injured for even a quarter our 3rd string is likely to see a couple snaps.

That is an excellent question******

I predict this rule will be revised for QB's. Atleast for hits they take behind the line of scrimmage.

Why was Tajh complaining about his eye last time he lost his helmet
Did he get a finger poke in the eye?

Maybe not an accidental eye gouge, it is Auburn you know.
I have no respect for them.

Yep. And somewhere Cullen Harper was walking down a street

helmet removal tactic, most likely by Auburn. Lucky for Taj they were still working on it. In a few games they'll be routinely taking them off, along with some heads. I see the rule being modifed by mid season and called the "Auburn Rule."

That is just another example of SEC "stategy". What better way to stop an offense than to make the QB sit out a play. Even my wife said "Is that legal, they're try to rip his helmet off?" The SEC thinks that rules are meant to benefit them and they will happily follow the letter of the rule, but never the intent. I see a new rule coming now, 15 yds for "dehelmetting"

Unfortunately that will probably be the case. Why abolish a stupid rule when you can just add another penalty?

When Auburn yanks of Boyd's helmet it should be a foul... Something along the lines of Unnecessary Roughness

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It really shouldn't count when the D puts you in a sleeper

I hope not.

I'd hate to waste a season of his eligibility for this nonsense.

Let morgan roberts hand the ball off for a play then bring stoudt back in.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No. At worst they'd direct snap to Andre for a play.***

I thought the same thing. Honestly, I would bring Stoudt or Roberts in and throw the ball some )like screen passes), because the defense will stack the box thinking the RB is going to get it. Kid can throw that's for sure.
