Try a good Anejo (1800, Don Q, Patron) and make an old fashioned. I was shocked how good they are

Don Julio is the best and I’m a bourbon man but I will sip some don.

I've moved on to bourbon. Tequila was my thing in my 20s. Now, I use it for margaritas and long island iced teas.

Don’t drink 14 shots…..unless you hate yourself. If you do hate yourself, then 14 shots will be more than ample punishment.

I like Don Julio, Anjego

This is a sipping tequila that my wife and I enjoy.

Not an expert nor do I have lots of tequila experience, but put a little of this stuff in a small glass with one small cube of ice and it is delicious. Careful. It will get away from you if you let it. Even if you don't.

a bottle of Patron Silver for a buddy of mine for Christmas. We opened it up watching some college bowl games, and when I went to get up to leave a couple hours later, I couldn't. Every time I tried, the room would move around. That stuff was so smooth, it completely snuck up on me.

I call that a happy sad memory because my buddy died from Leukemia in November 2015, less than a year after this.

When i buy good tequila, I buy Silver Patron. When I was in hospital recovering from cancer surgery, group of buddies came in and they all brought me bottles of different favorites and I kept all the bottles. Yes, they are empty.

Lunazel Repasado or Anejo

Inexpensive and very smooth. You can sip it and not feel bad about making margs with it because is a middle shelf price.

Did I say Smooth?

Añejo is the aged stuff and “best”, but it depends on your mood. I probably like the Reposado more but both are wonderful. Not cheap if you like stuff that’s really aged.

I think Olmeca is a choice of many (especially for the price point). I'm a big fan of Casamigos. I drink mine over ice with a splash of water.

Let me start off by saying most of the recommendations on here are over marketed mid Tequila at best. If you want the BEST, best flavor, best all around and super smooth get yourself a bottle of La Gritona. It comes in a green bottle and the bottles are maid from recycled sea glass. It’s an amazing tequila.
