Editing this post right now. Interesting tidbit, FSU is now ranked #1 in RPI, followed by Clemson at #2. This backs up my claim about FSU. I don’t care about their schedule, it’s hard to be 19-0.
The main difference is strength of schedule and Quad 1 Wins. Clemson has the 13th SOS, FSU is 38th. Clemson is 10-2 against Q1 opponents, FSU is 4-0.
So, Clemson has played 8 more games against Quad 1 opponents so far.
Blake has been hitting extremely well and of course had 3 home runs today. He is really getting hot at a great time.
Blake may very well be the most important guy to get going. This is the assumption because Cam Cannarella won’t get in any slump, that’s a given. Blake is in that heart of the order that needs to produce runs.
And it’s a good time because Florida State is 19-0.
I think I like a very front loaded ACC schedule. It allows us to get through these top tier teams early and out of the way. Not to say that we won’t win the series. Won the series on the road at Duke last weekend, and getting 2 out of 3 against a 19-0 FSU team would be huge again.
Florida State’s the real deal though. They are the best team we will play this year. They’ve got real developed athletes all around. And their defense is really good.
We MUST pitch very well to win this series. I see at least 2 low scoring games out of the three, and one game that will get out of hand either for FSU or Clemson.
I predicted a sweep against Duke last week, and while technically it was a close prediction, it was a little bold.
But at home in DKS, I do see a sweep.
Florida State is in fact the best team we’ll play, but they still haven’t met a team with the intensity that Clemson has yet. Even Florida.

Not right because FSU is #1 in RPI now Clemson is #2 lol. FSU has 38th ranked Strength of Schedule. Definitely not the easiest path so far.

Exactly, our schedule is full of good baseball and you never know when you'll run into a buzzsaw of a hot team. Wake could end up being our toughest opponent.
Love the way coach is playing everyone and changing up the batting order, moving to different positions.
Duke will be there in the end and likely hosts a regional. Smart, well coached team with an outstanding defense.
We got us a good looking group of young pitchers that should grow throughout the season. We need to find that guy who can consistently be our shutdown closer.

Yep, Duke’s fielding in our series was insane. Seemed like they trapped every ball before it could roll to the outfield. Hard to imagine a team fielding better than them throughout a series. Whereas our fielding still has plenty of room to improve over the season.

You said that Cannarella wouldn’t get in a slump. He’s in one now. His average has dropped over a hundred points in the last couple of weeks and is striking out far more than he did last year. Have you been watching the games?

We don't know who the best team we will play is yet. Could be FSU, could be Virginia, could be Duke, could be UNC. FSU hasn't had the toughest schedule up to this point so its hard to tell how good they are. By the end of ACC play we going to know who the best is for sure.
