How'd you miss the part about the bowls, and champ perhaps

getting a bonus. Possible division tweaks or not. There are no divisions in basketball. I thought the whole thing was about football until the last paragraph.

Don't understand why bowl money is split equally

May 7, 2013, 1:55 PM

I can understand (somewhat) why TV revenue is shared equally, but I don't see why bowl money is split equally. If you pour more money into your football program so that you can get to bowls and play for championships, don't see why that team shouldn't get to keep a slice of the money from the bowl before having to send it to the conference. Doesn't have to mean you keep at all, but at least create an incentive to raise your program to the level of getting to bowls. As it is now, there are schools in the ACC which are not pulling their weight and need to increase their commitment to football.

I don't see basketball leaving north carolina for NY

May 7, 2013, 2:18 PM

No way dukies and tarholes are going to allow that. It's much easier to play a tournament at home. Not that Clemson should care here anyway, but the new basketball schools are going to have to push for that to take away home court advantage in the tourney...Louisville is such a solid addition. They are heavily investing in athletics, and it's been paying off for them.

the Tobacco Road coalition doesn't have the clout to dictate things any more. Syracuse, Pitt, BC will vote as a block. Louisville & Miami will join them. FSU, GT will have to get on a plane no matter what, so they might as well see the Big Apple. VT goes back w/ their Big East brothern. Clemson will be the swing vote.
