TBT, retro gear edition

Wow, I haven't posted here since I was a teenager, probably.

Anyway, I recently came into some rather old Clemson memorabilia and gear and I thought I'd share with you guys. Some backstory: my grandfather, the family's first and biggest Tiger fan, died last year. No one I know was a bigger Tiger fan than this man, and I spent many years growing up watching our Tigers with him. He even took me to my first home game, the opener against Furman in 1994! It was heartbreaking to lose him and even when we won it all this year, I regret that he was not here to see it. He would have been incredibly proud!

Much of my grandfather's Clemson memorabilia was left to me. It took me some time to go through it all, but I was shocked to find some of these things so well preserved considering their age. It would have taken all day to photograph everything I found, but I thought I would just share a few of them that I particularly loved.

^ A cup from the 1978 season.



^ I knew this one would be among them when I started to look. The 1989 Gator Bowl was one of my grandfather's favorite Clemson victories.

^ A painting from 1977. I'm not sure of its origins other than that.



^ Okay, admittedly this one was not his. I found it recently on my own and thought it was too cool not to share!

My dad ran an auction and found it in a box of books. Pretty cool. Has a picture of the football team with (I think) Heisman - the pictures don't ave the names with them... but I think it is the 1903 team.

Actually haven't looked at it in a long time, need to try and compare pic to known pics of him.

Been thinking about selling it - don't think my kids will want it....
