Tailgate TV Box

Jul 14, 2015, 11:28 AM

I'm looking to step up my tailgate game a little bit this year and hoping that some of you might be able to help me out.

I have seen some tailgates that have built boxes with their tv inside of it and additional speakers also mounted in the box. I was hoping someone might have a design or website where I might find plans for one of these. I have tried Googling this, but all I get is direct tv or dish links to their products.

TIA

Those are 2 I found online. Anyone who does custom speaker boxes should be able to build you what you need if you're trying to go local though.

Much appreciated, I think I will try and build something myself that is more simple but these will give great ideas.

Yeah those 2 looked pretty extreme, but like I said, anybody who does custom speaker boxes for cars and stuff should be able to make what you need if you can't do it yourself.

If you have to do all that stuff, why even come to the game?

Friends, good food, a decent radio and a good tent/shade tree is all you need. Good old fashioned Clemson tailgating is what I call it.

Everything else is just show off. Reminds me of the coots. Our team is really sorry, but we have a really neat tailgate.

To each his own, but when I started CU in........

1968, tailgaters had a table, a few chairs and a cooler. We did it this way for many years. Although we added items like a tent over the years, I am also nostalgic for good ol fashioned CU tailgating. Its always about the company, comradship and spirit no matter how you choose to do it!

I enjoy going to home games its my favorite place in the world, having the TV allows my family and I to spend more time tailgating and still keep up with the other games. That's really all it is, the speakers would be for just a little bit of music to play while we are hanging out.

.....but there is nothing like being there at Death Valley!

I often think as you, but I just can't bring myself to deny my grandchildren the opportunity
my children had. Yea, and I sort of like it as well.....LOL. GO TIGERS!

Here's a basic wooden tailgate TV box that a UGA fan built. http://lumberjocks.com/projects/26372

I've been mulling over the idea of building a tailgating box to house the tailgating entertainment gear along with extra space to carry the cooking gear. Gets old spending 20-40 minutes setting up things and this way I can just put the Tailgater on the roof of the truck, start the generator, and already have everything plugged up and ready for me to turn on and then do a quick lock-up when we go to the game. The other issue is the weight of the box with the gear in it, where I'd store it at home, and how to get the thing in the back of the truck with ease, if I were to build it.

Google "tailgate TV box" under images and you'll see a lot of stuff.
