What is up with the Tarhole blue jackets the staff was wearing?

they are actually a weak purple that looks light blue on tv. They should be gathered up and burned. They look awful.

I don’t know but I sure liked the results! As long as they keep playing like this they can wear Booby Pink!

The lighting does have an affect on the tv screen. The floor in LJ last night appeared white on my screen and I’m sure it isn’t. Anyone notice this?

I normally don’t notice stuff like that but my wife said something about it within the first minute. Then it made me wonder. TV definitely made it look Carolina blue.

I saw Booby Pink dance once a long time ago back in Atlanta.

Old news racist. The jackets look good and Brownell must like them because that was not the first time they were worn this year.

Racist???

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

LOL I was wondering too.

I think some people are just programmed to throw that in for no reason.
Like Tourette’s syndrome or something.

Supposedly they are purple but they look blue to me and I

I heard someone reference them as a "soft lavender" . No where near our purple.

For some reason purple doesn’t display properly on a tv screen

Clemson purple on the floor and the cheerleaders came through very obvious and clear on my TV but those shirts looked Carolina Blue.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They didn't look much better in person.***

I was at the game last night

Jan 12, 2023, 12:41 PM

They are/were definitely Tar Heel baby blue

Aside: why on earth do we have so many assistant coaches???? Does each player need his own personal assistant coach?? Very odd to me.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Because basketball is so over funded

they just hire extra people because they can.

Sure seems like it!

While we’re talking about the game, I want to add a few things:

The old Littlejohn environment was so much better. Sure, the renovations and concourses are cool. But I miss the old LJ experience. I miss JDew. Why did they put students on the opposite side of the court vs behind the team benches?
Also, why did they eliminate students from behind one of the baskets? You would think you’d want the kids going crazy when teams are shooting FTs at BOTH sides of the court.

Anyway, it was fun. Glad I went. Really poor turnout for #1 team in ACC (and yes I do realize it was a 9pm game on a week night). Attendance looked to be about 50%. I was expecting a lot more.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

How long has it been since you been to LJ?

Jan 12, 2023, 1:04 PM

They haven’t had students behind the team benches in at least 20 years. They moved them from behind one basket to courtside, in an effort to make it louder on the court.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

‘02-‘06 The students were behind each basket from the court all the way up to the rafters

Jan 12, 2023, 1:41 PM

I try to go to at least 1 basketball game a year. Admittedly, it’s been 2 or 3 years since I’ve been to a game because I lived in Raleigh briefly and the covid crap, but I’ve been to games in the current setup. The older setup was a lot louder and a lot more fun, IMO.
I like the move of students to the side of the court but I would have put them behind the other team’s bench. However, I still don’t know why you move students away from behind each basket to distract teams from making their free throws at both ends.

attendance...

Jan 12, 2023, 1:11 PM [ in reply to Sure seems like it! ]

attendance last night was great. arguably the best crowd we've had since covid. Maybe tv didnt do it justice but it was essentially packed out, especially in the upper bowl.

Attendance reported was 7789 out of a 9000 capacity. Not full but better than 50%.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They were definitely not. You may need to see an eye doctor.***
