Sunshine Pumper checking in for duty.

We just posted our biggest runaway win road opener under Dabo, games that are historically for us methodical, slow moving, largely scripted offenses, testing our strengths and weaknesses, with a number one goal of 'Don't give them the ball in our territory. Make them earn it.' Mission accomplished, plus we covered a spread that grew up 'til gametime to over 24. Boom.
Cade's series there at the end was awesome. A thing of beauty. A cherry on top of a typical close road season opener that opened up for us late. We are filthy rich at QB. It's almost unfair.
As far as the OL and WR corps - they finally have some real game tape to own up to. And that's why we practice. Plus we've got dudes and depth across both those boards for now, enough where a cream will rise to the top.
Our D is sick. KJ is a full on manster. Barrett Carter is thick and fast and every#######where. It's too many to compliment. A couple of speed up the playcall moments and they're golden.
There's a LOT to like about this year's squad, and holy smokes, we're only going to get better as the season progresses.
Monday night was a great start to that. Any naysayers out there are out of their gourds.
Go Tigers.

I'm out of my gourd for totally different issues, but yes it was a strong showing to start a long season.
The tigers love to start slow and build momentum as the weeks pass by, hopefully we reach a crescendo come playoff time.

I honestly think we’re headed to the playoff at 13-0.

Cade at least gives us hope to 13-0. Someone asked the other day which QB our opponents had rather play. An easy answer and it’s obvious.

Agreed. Not bad for an opening game on the road against a conference foe. I've seen opening games against lesser schools with a smaller margin of victory.

the unpopular glass-half-full kinda guy for a moment. As I posted on another thread...
"there are different types of "41-10 games". (1) Your team comes out executing well and looks sharp, against a vastly inferior opponent, and dominates right from get-go. You build up a 27-0 halftime lead, get the 2nd and 3rd stringers into the game, and the other team scores 10 points in garbage time. (2) Your lead is only 14-10 deep into the 3rd quarter, you see the exact same tendencies that lead to us to having the 100th ranked offense last year, and you're actually worried about the outcome of the game. Despite TWO BLOCKED PUNTS, an interception on the first play of the game, and a stifling defense that is shutting them down".
Yes, we pulled away and looked better as the game went on. And yes, Cade looked real sharp... check out how fast he did the pump-fake and then immediately threw a prefect strike downfield into tight coverage. Small sample size, I know, only one series... but man, he looked decisive and made quick reads/decisions. To this very untrained observer with zero coaching experience, but 65 years with eyes.

I don't know... maybe the interception on the very first play

of the game motivates the highly favored team into a rout, as opposed to some routine punt later? Maybe not, I don't know. Maybe they're the same thing. Above my pay grade for sure.
edit: However, why is it that "turnover ratio" is (I think) still the most determining factor in which team wins? Not net punting average, or any of that stuff??

Can’t coach unless he has a generational qb and he’s never called plays and we need outside hires and basically everything is wrong except for dj and we’re gonna really suck and it’s dabo’s fault and you’ll see and brad is great
