Good morning everyone how was your weekend?

Friday, took the day off, tried to do a few errans but failed at every turn, either due to policy or people in the way. Friday night was Sharkgirl's company Christmas gathering. Always a nice time.
Saturday, did more running around then up to Asheville for the Whitey Morgan show. Much beer was drank, much fun was had, the Orange Peel area of Asheville lacks a proper dive bar and Uber was annoying at 1 am.
Sunday, drove home and recovered all day.

As reported last Monday, my sister had passed away unexpectedly on the Sunday before. Made the trip to SC for the funeral held the past Saturday.
Saturday morning, while getting dressed for the funeral, my wife received a call from her sister in TN. Her mother had suddenly had her oxygen levels drop and was unresponsive. Another call thirty minutes later reported she had passed.
Another funeral coming this weekend.
Made the trip home to Florida after my sister’s funeral to avoid the storms. Made it home at 9:30pm. Rested.
My dad called to check on us Sunday (yesterday) afternoon. Then he shared that my cousin, his sister’s oldest son (mid-40’s) was found dead in his bed.
Seems my family is riding that merry-go-round of emotions. My sister, my mother-in-law, and a cousin. All died within a week.
Don’t think I will be answering my phone this week.

Purty good. Camped and fished on the coast Thursday thru Saturday. Caught a few trout. Ran the the boat good and long. Weather was nice and beat it back home Saturday night before the rain that washed off the salt. Ate shrimp from Bennet's Point for breakfast yestidy. Now gots to go clean some fish and charge the batteries.

Friday not much happened
Saturday watched basketball and football with my new lady friend who likes college sports more even than I do (no pics)
Sunday usual lunch with mom and up the hill in a monsoon to the Asheville Science Tavern at White Labs Kitchen. The program on marine tartigrades was almost as good as the pizza and beer

It was a good weekend. The wife and I flew into Asheville Friday then drove up to Pigeon Forge for the weekend. Looked at Christmas lights and spent the weekend trolling around Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.
Friday - Ate at the Apple Barn, then went over to Gatlinburg to walk around the tourist traps.
Saturday - Ate at Paula Deans at the Island and then went to look at Christmas lights Saturday night. Heavy storms Saturday night around 11pm. Nothing compared to what Obed® experienced though.
Sunday flew back home.

Played golf on Friday afternoon with my BIL.
Oldest son is home for break from college so we all just hung out Saturday and Sunday.
Not very eventful, but it was relaxing.

Lesson learned: Zinc and black beans do not mix.

Friday - got home, drank Fullers London Pride in a proper glass, ate, tv, passed out on the couch.
Saturday - work, karate, shopping (went to Walmart totally forgetting it’s close to Crimmus - phuque me), also forgot how quickly Lowe’s and HD get picked over this time of year, got home and popped some zinc because I felt a little cold ish, dinner, tv, bed.
Sunday - church, gym, lilAPM home from Elon, kept popping zinc, ate homemade crock pot street taco ish chicken with black beans, tv, bed.
The real fun began in the wee hours of dis mawn. APM got up to pee and felt perhaps the beginning of a turtle head poking out, but ignored it and returned to bed. Well, at 0430 there was no more ignoring it. APM got up and laid a paint peeling pre-dawn deuce.
Pro tip: do not mix zinc and black beans.
Enjoy your week Lungites.

Thursday after work, MEDIUM volume acoustic jam. Life got in the way for the last few months so we haven't been able to play, but everybody was a little rusty but ran through a lot of songs. Sounded pretty decent overall.
Friday, had the day off so got a few chores knocked out around the house, and volunteered to help with the Christmas event at the charter school Mrs. is on the board of. Very cute and well-mannered kids who were appreciative when we handed out treat bags as they left for the day. Started the Epic Birthday Weekend for Mrs. Tig with an early dinner at Cooks, Corks, and Books, which is always fantastic food. Then off to the Neighborhood Theater in Charlotte for 49 Winchester show. Excellent show, high energy, and sold-out crowded. They won't be back at a venue that size anymore, their fanbase has exploded.
Saturday, mostly errands, oil change and grocery run during the day. Back home to watch Clemson basketball and some Army-Navy, then off to Sullivan's Steak House in Charlotte for family birthday dinner for Mrs. Great time, great food. Back home to watch the 4th quarter of the Furman playoff game.
Sunday, lots of rain so mostly hung around the house trying to get Christmas presents in order. Took off late afternoon for Charlotte to see the Truckstop Preachers at The Thirsty Beaver to wrap up Mrs. Tig's Epic Birthday Weekend. Had an absolute blast, but driving home in a monsoon was tenuous. She crashed, so I watched AEW recorded from Saturday night.
Monday, off today, and in a couple of hours will be heading out with my great pal orangecadillac on our annual Christmas Shopping Extravaganza. We've been doing this for somewhere around 30+ years without a falling out...probably because neither of us has a garage bar.
27/19 Covids, will do it again next year because I might be able to afford to do it again by then.

But we still managed to do a trip to New Bern and see the Tryon Palace Candlelight Tour, pretty cool place and history. Stayed at beautiful Bed & Breakfast where lilkrzy barely slept, so we barely slept in the not good way.
Cut the trip short because incoming storm and got back early Sunday, then we cuddled with lilkrzy on the couch watching kids stuff because he wasn't feelin good.
Glad dawghater & Obed survived.

Friday...worked from home. Came down with cold/flu/crud on Wednesday. Don't remember much.
Saturday...BB team played in a Christmas Tourny in Walhalla. Thought we were to play Seneca and Walhalla, but ended up being RC Edwards and Walhalla. We got crushed by RC Edwards when we played them 2 weeks ago...played them in the 1st game of tourny and played a lot better. Lost, but was more respectable.
2nd game against Walhalla and we played like total crap. We have 12 girls on the team and half of them have never played BB before (which is unbelievable for a school of our size), so we only have 6-7 that we can really put in the game. So with only about 1 hour between games, our starting 5 were gassed early on in the 2nd game. Can't beat the press to save our lives. Lost bus ride back in the rain. Got home to watch our Tigers win against TCU. Trying really hard not to get excited about this team, but it's getting harder and harder.
Sunday...felt like crap and still sick. Sat in chair all day and watched NFL. Already made fantasy playoffs, so result of this week didn't matter too much, but still looking good for a win going into tonight's game. In contention for overall win total in the big pool I play in and sitting in good position going into tonight's games as well.

Fri - Gingerbread Day at little one's school. Busted arsse around the house getting things cleaned up, had let things slip a little bit.
Sat - a little more cleaning, little one spent the night at a friends. Was supposed to have date night, but the a-fib had the wife feeling poorly (oh yeah, did I forget to tell y'all about that?). Went out and met some friends at Southbound Smokehouse in the alley. Had some beers and food was decent, good times.
Sun - was supposed to get our Christmas tree but the rain derailed that plan. Hopefully get it today. Downtown to watch football, played a couple rounds of music bingo, struck out. Wife still down for the count, so took little one to hibachi steakhouse to meet her family to celebrate her nephew's birthday.
Tired of cleaning, still need a tree. Not bad. The end.

Friday: Finally got over whatever illness funk I had all week. Had a great night of throwing bags and hanging out with friends. Best friend came to visit for the weekend, which was mainly for...
Saturday: Threw a huge birthday party for my wife. Hired a bartender to work the garage bar. Everyone was in rare form.
Sunday: Recovery and NFL.

had a blast in Baltimore
I like the way Southwest Airlines does things when the plane is only 70% booked, 1.5 hr direct flight to BWI is also sweet
Tried to go to this cool place Little Donna's but didn't have enough time before the Billy show to wait around, went into one place thinking it was a restaurant and got patted down by security, turned around and went to a pretty good mexican place in Fell's Point
Got to the show at CFG Bank Arena and saw a great Billy Strings show, afterwards walked a few blocks to Peter's Pour House and watch the Dins almost pull out a win
Got up on Saturday and shopped and had bfast at Fell's Point Farmers Market, awesome empanada, stuffed arepa, candied bacon, fresh juice, and apples and persimmons
Took an hour BYOB boat ride around the harbor, hit up the cool the Horse You Came On Saloon, went to drink and eat at Penny Black, best and most reasonable priced crabcakes in the area
Went to get drinks at the interesting Lord Baltimore Hotel before the show, 2nd night we were in the pit for another awesome show, walked to Mick O'Shea's Irish Pub afterwards, finally got back to the sweet airbnb in Fell's Point and hung out on an awesome private rooftop deck
Had a delicious bfast at Charmed Kitchen and got a ride for the return flight to GSP
Great trip, awesome shows, amazing food, will return!

Friday unremarkable, except watched Tiger soccer get that W.
Saturday was decorating day. Put up candles and wreaths on the windows. Picked up Son-of and went to get tree in the rain and then lunch in Central. Back home, stuck very very wet tree in stand in the garage to dry. Watched Army-Navy a bit and made trip to liquor store to spend too much on rye for my upcoming rye-off. Got some interesting competitors. Back home and made a nice rainy cold day dinner of soup.
Sunday made breakfast and cleaned the house up before hauling down Christmas decorations. Brought in the tree and used my exciting new Krinner Tree Genie XXL tree stand which gave me much pleasure. If you hate your tree stand get one of these, it's a life changer. Decorated tree and house while watching NFL and hauled the empty boxes back upstairs so we are officially in holiday mode.
Would repeat even though weather was sucky.

As I made the trip back from Australia, but overall, a good time.
Friday, took the train from Sydney to Katoomba to go out to the Blue Mountains. Saw the sights, had a couple beers, and rode the train back.
Saturday - Futzed around, as it got up to 103 in Sydney. Didn't die, but made it to Allianz Stadium for Sydney FC/Macarthur bulls. Caught the Clemson WVU game early, and a stop at the Crown Hotel to meet the Sydney FC supporters (The Cove) before the game.
Sunday - Woke up and left the hotel to get to the airport. Waited for an hour to get my luggage and get checked in. Got through security and immigration, and then on to the Skeyteam Club before I got on the plane from SYD-LAX. I left at 2:45, Flew for 15 hours, and Arrived at 9AM on Sunday. After that, I had a 6 hour layover in LAX before flying back to Austin. Got home around 8:30PM, and Was in bed before midnight.
Somehow, I managed to change through 17 time zones, and I got up today like it was a normal day.
I'll take it.

Friday night went to a Christmas Party at some "new" friends

but unfortunately the dogs were not out so I had to talk to other humans. Drank lots of bourbon, ate some italian food they had catered and some shark-cootchy board meats and cheeses. The hosts are the mother and step-father of one of my daughter's friends and they are super nice, not to mention she is kinda hot.
Saturday up to take son to birthday party on other side of town and do some Christmas shopping for Angel Tree kids. Afterward we went to the beach to walk the dogs. I hate beach walks. I like sitting on the beach and I like running on the beach but my wife and I have different walk paces and she don't slow down so I was half walk-jogging trying to drink beers and hold dogs.
Sunday took other son to another birthday party and took daughter to volleyball. Stopped by skate shop to get dreams dashed since they didn't have the skateboards we "needed." Home to clean for HOURS and put up laundry, then grocery store and back to the week.
Kids are being absolute nightmares these days, entitled little sh>its, and it is driving wife and I crazy. Apparently I am not good at parenting.

Didn’t have to work. Which was amazing.
Friday - went to dinner with wife and friends. 12 of us in total. By 9pm, I had drank enough to kill a normal person. Bed early
Saturday - played dual QB for my son and all his buds. We played for hours and hours. My arm still hurts. Wife went out with friends and I stayed home with kids. Drank some Long Drinks and went to bed.
Sunday - fuccccckkkk the Lions. That’s all I have to say.
