Stop saying its hard to recruit for

Dec 20, 2012, 12:02 PM

Clemson basketball and that's just how it is!!!!! That's stupid! Ignorant and another excuse!!! Of course you can recruit here for basketball. If you have a staff that can recruit. We are in the ACC, the best if the best in basketball. We are a great school! Of course you can recruit here. We just happen to have coaches who suck at it in most cases. If gonzaga can build a program then any ACC team can with the right coaches. A few years ago, no one knew who the crap gonzaga was. Heck, even the name sounds rediculous.

Sure we could use more upgrades in basketball facilities but that's not the issue. Geeez, even coach Ellis can out recruit us at coastal. Fact is we need a coach to recruit well or hire a bigtime recruiter. And stop with the freaking excuses. That's why we are still behind in MBb , excuses excuses excuses!!!!!!! Get it done!!!!!

I have sold for a living for 15 years now and do really well and looking at me you'd think I couldn't. But the fact is I'm simply good at what I do. And it has never been by accident either.

I love coach brownell but geez man, either get help recruiting or hire someone or get better at it. Either way, losing to coastal Is a joke. If any ACC coach can't beat coastal, they should be fired.

Why don't you do a little dirty work and invest in future recruits. $10,000 for 5 stars and $5,000 for 4 stars. 10% up front, and the rest once the ink dries.

we are in the acc, not the sec- our guys don't get near that

This is absolutely true. There is no reason to

concede recruiting at Clemson. We play in the best conference in the country against some of the most storied programs in the country. We have a beautiful campus and an excellent academic experience. We have top-notch support for our student-athletes. We have great facilities for basketball. We've put plenty of players in the NBA. We have been to the tournament plenty of times. There is no reason to think that kids would not jump at the chance to attend a school like ours. We need to convince some of these kids that it will be more fun to go up against the storied programs and put them in their place, rather than just be "next" at UNC or Duke.

Big recruits have big egos

"Son, why in the world would you want to go to a football school like Clemson and be second fiddle, when you could come here to Duke/Kentucky/Syracuse/Indiana/UCLA/Kansas where basketball is king?"

There are very few schools that have great programs in football and basketball. It's too hard to recruit for the second sport.
