Well, those of you that bad mouthed Dabo what do you have to say about this portal fiasco? Do you admit Dabo was correct or just sit back and be defiant.

There is nothing wrong with using the portal sparingly. We could honestly use it to plug a few holes. It would work in this manner but not to completely overhaul a roster.

I personally would have loved to be complaining about being disrespected by the playoff committee.
I always enjoy people who think all of nothing is the only choice. You’re going to honestly tell me a couple OLinemen and Keon Coleman wouldn’t have helped us to a better record?

Can you honestly tell us which scholarship players should have been cut, or late cycle recruits not taken, to open up space?

Yea I can’t see how anyone can claim not using the portal at all is a good idea.
The challenge for Dabo which I do respect him for is his character criteria probably weeds out a lot of options. Between guys just wanting money or complaining about PT

They'd have been in the playoff. They won a conference championship. They beat us.
I get your point though. It was a fragile house of cards.
There needs to be a way to pick up a few needed players when you have absolutely no receivers or OLs, etc.

And would have been in the playoff had their starting QB not gotten injured. With that said…
I don’t think one Clemson fan wants us to take a Florida St approach to the portal. What we do want (or atleast I want) is to grab 2 or 3 guys every year (even if they’re a 1 and done type athlete) and plug them in. You’re telling me we couldn’t use a little extra help on our roster in a few key positions?

Such hard heads. Now, LISTEN! Sorry to yell, but this has barnacles growing on it. Please hit the engage brain button.
If Dabo did not offer them in HS, there is a reason. If they didn’t meet his criteria then, it is very unlikely that they have improved their character by whining about playing time.
If someone had us as #2 and we offered them, they would be a candidate. This is a very small subset of players and Dabo gets to choose, not Tnetters. Repeat, NOT Tnetters.
People like Norvell, Prime, Kirbs, etc have little character and lots of slime. Dabo will never grease up. I don’t see him ever going for a one and done. He is rock solid and we are very fortunate to have him in spite of the daily list of faults brought forth daily by supposed fans.
Just call us Clemson, AAA team for the Jags. Old times there are not forgotten…

..it's like some people think there are only two options: build your roster with entirely portal players or don't use it at all.
Life is seldom that binary. It's mostly nonbinary  .

The two who used the portal are the two who did better than expected.

Last I checked FSU went undefeated in the regular

season and “should” (according to many) been in the playoff. I’d say it was a successful season and they would do it again given the alternative.

level that FSU did). And really no one here is. We all want to use it sparingly. But you can’t point to FSU’s season and say see, that didn’t work. Same with Colorado to a lesser extent, considering they exceeded preseason expectations.
