I have to say that it's puzzling and more than a little disheartening to see the internet trolling raised to such a level as to blow up the Clemson fanbase.
We have all complained about the aholes in the stands who screamed every time we had to punt that the play call was stupid, calling plays bubble screens when they weren't, and 100% mainly trying to impress those around them with their football knowledge.
I played this game back then, and it is a lot different now. Used to be, you could watch the guards and read the play, and that's definitely not true anymore.
Everybody is so disrespectful now, civility is almost gone. I'm guilty of it, too, so I include myself. I think I have just about quit going to the games because of the couch coaches saying stupid stuff when we had a 45 to 10 lead in the 3rd quarter. I can only imagine what it's been lately.
I remember the 2018 game against Alabama being a lot of long third down conversions by Trevor Lawrence and great catches by Justyn Ross, and that the final score was really lopsided because Alabama started throwing it too much instead of pounding out a couple of drives. I watched Christian Wilkins and the other DL studs make great play after unbelievable play. I remember thinking, "Man, will we ever be this good again?"
Turns out, we haven't been. Etienne covered a raft of ineffective OL play by being Etienne 5 or 6 times a game. I thought Spiller was good until Etienne just got better and better, and stronger. We have maybe 2 or 3 DL that are in the same conversation with the 2018 bunch...maybe. But we don't have the LOS collapsers and fast readers that they were. I'm not sure that kind of talent can be expected to be stockpiled again.
I do wish that there was a way to assign all of the Tylers' to an all-Tyler section, and to let me sit far from them in Death Valley. They can feed off of each other and just have the best old time. And it will help me have a much more enjoyable time, myself.

I'm not happy about the team right now, either.

It's just not my nature to try to make everyone else miserable at the same time.
I completely acknowledge that Dabo might be a modern day Lou Holtz, and when the platitudes have worn off, the team begins to falter. Man, I hope not, but it is in the back of my mind.
Dabo's got enough credibility in the bank with me to let him have some time to fix it. I had hoped that the hires were going to be really good, but losing the intensity of Venables may have been a blow to the whole team.

We are maybe not the same fan base we were. I just heard a tape of "the call". Tyler was completely out of line. It was a personally demeaning rant, questioning a 2-time national champion not only coaching ability but personal character. There was no end in sight, so the host finally had to cut him off. I am sure Tyler cannot understand the irony of a guy like him, while speaking disrespectfully to a guy like Dabo, referring to an OT admonition about pride.
To whatever degree Tyler reflects the fan base - is it a little or a lot? - you are correct, Mumbo: That is not what we were. And we wanted to win just as much as anyone today. I don't know what we understood better, but a cynic is one who "Understands the price of everything and the value of nothing." (Wilde) That is becoming us, it seems.
The "Tyler call" is either a wake-up to what we are becoming, or a double down on our entitlement. We'll see.
