in this game, particularly when they got warmed up & going in 2nd half and then sadly learned that 20 of their “Student-Athletes” may have been paid big $ to come join them as a plan to win regardless, made me sick.
This behavior of “buying” players and having them jump from one team that spent a ton of $ & time to recruit them..to another team that has no expense involved and getting to play them the very next year w/o sitting out is rotten to the core!
Why couldn’t a rule be brought back where a player has to sit out a year b/4 playing with his 2nd team, as well as a team can only take a limited number of transfers, like 5, and the rest be from the high school ranks like Dabo does & likes.
When are moral, ethical & courageous people in college administrations, coaching & the NCAA gonna speak up!
Dabo & Saban have paid some lip service to it for sure but they don’t want to carry the entire burden.
Whatever, this and other short-cut solutions to getting a great team fast at All costs has killed the Golden Goose..
and it showed Sat & Sun with Colorado & FSU leading the way via their outright buying of many many dozens of selected studs to rise to the top. Wouldn’t you call that being semi-pro tactics.
Flame on and burn the messenger but truth hurts.
Go TiGERS..win tonight with one of the truest collegiate type Student-Athlete teams and where the NIL deals are out in the open and fostered by the nation’s first NIL program with a director & a building so to be on the up & up with players & parents.

Good point LBB. I think it will eventually happen, but I also believe the NCAA will be dissolved so don’t look for any oversight from them.

I understand your position. I've been complaining against the professionalism of college athletics since 1987, or maybe before.
But, I do find it a little strange that some fans (not you specifically) have two positions.
1. Blast Dabo for being stubborn for not using the portal.
2. Blast Norvell for using the portal.

In all fairness to you Bret, using the portal and abusing the portal
is different. Clemson fans don't want Dabo to fill our roster with
that. The high school way is the best way.

100% true. Using the portal and abusing it are 2 different things. Like LBB said, put a limit on the number of players you can portal each year. I am 150% with LBB about these players having to sit out one year if they want to transfer. That would cut down on some of this ridiculousness.

and I’ve been highly impressed with his personal demeanor on the sidelines in past, how he interacts with his players when they’ve goofed and in his calm post interviews (not like Beamer & blaming people & hotdogs!).
And, you made a great point..he is not cheating the current transfer system but rather taking advantage of it to the hilt til it’s declared illegal.
Also, seems Dabo is getting the dire message and believe I heard he offered a transfer from out west last week.
What happens this season (if FSU puts the wood on his top-notch group of fine high school recruited team Or wins the Natty, like Cam & Auburn did) may be his breaking point.
Lastly, your Nole team’s performance was eye-opening and I enjoyed their genuine happiness, youthfulness and controlled enthusiasm afterwards and sharing it with their fans and among themselves.
The DV game should be epic!

I agree, when Bobby Bowden was coaching at FSU, the were properly nicknamed the CRIMINOLES. Looks like the name is going to have to be reinstated.
I lived in Talahussie for a year or two in the late 80’s and the under the table crap that was going on was sickening!!!!
I’m a Tiger through and through and I love winning, but, and maybe have on Rose colored glasses, I like the way our program is run and I think Dabo is trying his best to be above board and honorable. Maybe Sanandaj is too, but I think the Portal is just another name for the toilet, because if something isn’t changed soo, CFB ads we have known it and loved it will be no more!

I am an 80+ year old Fan and understand that times changed. We just gotta accept this fact and move on to something more important. Shucks! I do not blame the players. Take what you can get as soon as possible. It is what it is. We may not portal and the way things are running but can not change anything. Just like politic. I gonna have a drink and watch the game.
