in my opinion i think he was a whole lot better than his but still need to improve on some things as a play caller

I still have flashbacks to the ND game last year. So for me, the eyeball test shows that he is much better.

and in '21 we were in the top ten, then last year dropped to something like 20(?), then this year back in the top ten.
So, for all intents and purposes, this year we were back to Venables' level of defense.

I think we would be even more dominant on that side if we had an offense that functioned.
