Some serious TRUTH for the TRUTH SEEKERS...

Jun 14, 2012, 12:33 AM

This is not a post for everyone. This is a post for the patient and wise.

The ACC has added four colleges to their conference in the last I don't know how many years (and if that is important to you, then YOU do the research.)

Those four were Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Florida State and the U of Miami. All four of these schools were at the pinnacle, or very close to it. of college football when admitted to the ACC. One would imagine that the football "IQ" of this ACC conference would have improved as a result. In fact, the opposite seems to be true, and again, YOU do the research. (I haven't the time or inclination.) But for those of you who continue to complain about this, do it. I am only sayin' that if "feels" like the ACC football level of competitiveness declined. I can't prove it.

But one thing I CAN prove is that this imaginary dominance of some conference is complete BS. And again, YOU do the due diligence to see what I mean. It waxes and wanes and jumping ship for any reason, especially for temporary monetary compensation, is just WRONG. And the #1 reason is illuminated in our own conference... Miami? Ga Tech? Fla State? VaTech? The promised land of college football that we thought... turned out to be nothing but an illusion. And I will not speculate as to why.

So at this point, adding Syracuse and Pitt to the ACC to me seems as good an option as possible. They are both superb basketball schools, which should, improve the ACC's football. And, unfortunately, decrease the ACC's dominance in basketball. Wait and see. And throw this back in my face when I'm wrong. But at least, please, STOP acting as if going to the Big 12 or ANY conference for that matter, would be some sort of a "good move" for my beloved Clemson Tigers. It wouldn't and you are seriously misguided and possibly not even capable human being of making decisions about your own life, let alone my beloved Clemson Tigers.

Leave it to the Tigers. They WILL do what's right for Clemson. But please STOP the 'Big 12' propaganda and all of the extraordinary innuendo. Unless, of course, you WANT to hurt our program. If you don't stop, THAT is how I will know YOU and your sincere intentions. (And perhaps many others)

I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'

I talked to one of the coaches from Ford's staff about this

Jun 14, 2012, 7:22 AM

He said at the time the Fl. State football coaches were opposed to going in the ACC because of the tougher academic admission standards. He correctly predicted Miami's decline. He also correctly predicted that another small Florida school would reap the benefits, he thought possibly Central Florida--turns out it was South Florida.
That and the 85 scholarship limit placed on schools.
