So, my take on the game

For the first time I believe since TL, we actually put away a team we should have. Took a while, but once we got out of our own way, we dominated as we should have. I'm not knocking the kid, but every game under DJ seemed to be a grind. One reason Cade didn't play as much as we all would have liked last year was we couldn't put teams away. Furman took us to the 4th quarter. La Tech gave us some fits.
The bonehead plays are frustrating. Bonehead plays that lead to easy points for the opposition or cost us points as at Duke even more so. Most have been on Cade.
In spite of the bonehead plays, Cade didn't get down on himself. How many times did we see DJ make a few and then go MIA? He has the right mental make up as a QB. Now, he needs experience.
TJ Parker is a dude. Mascoll is what he's always been, a good, not great DE. Parker will be a guy teams have to game plan for.
Nice to see Stellato play well. He and Brown have speed, which we need to see emerge on the outside. Been disappointed with Randall, he seems to have trouble getting of the line of scrimmage. Competition noted, but WR got open and caught the ball well. Beaux, except for the brain fart on the long TD, made plays. He was 6" away from 2 long scores on the one he stepped out of bounds on.
Lucas has come a long way at CB. He's big and physical. Our back end is going to be good.
Both first and second team OL have talent. We've moved the ball very well the last 4 games, even with the 2-2 record. People may not like the opinion, but Austin is doing a good technical job coaching, and has elevated our recruiting.
Our backup RB's are good, in spite of the recruiting ratings. Thomas is a load. Adams has the best RB nickname maybe of all time, and we see why he has it. Haynes is smooth with a burst. They won't play much unless someone is banged up, but they can all play.
Second half was very crisp on both sides. After 3 lackluster halves to begin the year, that was nice to see. Amazing what can happen when you don't blow your own foot off.
Hoping for a crisp game against FAU, and for a lot of guys to play again. 9/23 will be a war. In 2014 we shot ourselves in the foot over and over and got trained. That could happen again. But we also could play well, and if we do, FSU will be game on. They may be better, and may win, but if we play without the bonehead plays, it will be a heck of a game.
