I have my doubts that he's ready for this job but.....One advantage he has is Dabo's the AD of the football program so he doesn't have to worry about that. He made the big move with the baseball program that most fans wanted.

The only thing I question is the timing of giving Brad a vote of confidence. With the announcement of the new OP center coming, why would he not wait another year? If you look at Brad's career we will probably win 16 or 17 games next year. By giving him another year and the new OP Center a year closer to fruition, I think we can attract a much better candidate at that time.

One other thing President Clements is big on sports. He wants a basketball program that can compete in March when it counts.

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.


Is the OP Center a done deal...

I thought it still had to go before the BOT for approval. After last night's performance, plus the fact that it will take away some prime football parking, would they actually approve it or is that just a formality?

Or, Neff should have made a move - gotten approval for the money and j discussed with potential coaches how they can be an integral part of developing the facility. (Like Dabo did.)

The announcement Monday was a colossal mistake and went against well established protocol for discussing coaches. He has a clear, personal bias towards Brownell from his time working with him as an associate AD.

Rookie mistakes for sure. Should have waited until after the NIT to make any statements with regard to BrowneLL.

This is the chicken or egg philosophy.

If we have a 1st class-winning coach, the OPs center is a layup. With BrowneLL and the way the season started and ended, it puts a huge question mark as to if it is needed. There is only so much money to go around and I say continue to spend it on Football.

Seeing it is the cash cow one would believe you take all measures necessary to be sure football is taken care of.

The regime over Ford failed to realize it and paid the price for many, many years.
