Sir in basketball if you don't make shots you lose and I never saw a head coach yet that made a shot. But of course you are most likely a football fan( I am as well) that only shows up here to bash something you know nothing about.

Have you ever saw a coach throw a TD pass or break a run for a TD? How about get an interception or make a tackle. In any job if the group fails as a whole, the leader is held accountable. Just like Streeter was. Napier was. Dabo took alot of critcism this year for his teams struggles and he did what was a home run fix by outsiders. I understand your logic and the OP was just poking fun. Hilariously, I I may add.

Smith had been at Clemson for 7 years, Admin. gave him the Dead Man Walking treatment until his contract expired and then refused to extend him.
I didn't hear much laughter from either camp.

What, and I'm just randomly pulling things out of my ###, the coach made adjustments so the "hot" shooting team they were playing wasn't able to get such easy shots?
and maybe even worked to get his own team better shots or get to the line when his own team isn't shooting well?
You know, because we lead the ACC in free throw shooting.
but maybe that's asking too much from a coach to try to adjust to the situation even without considering it's the second to last team in the country?

I coached BB . . . know a bit. Brad's not good is a couple areas . .for sure. And yes coaching can effect shooting. So when you don't understand . . . . .

That's what makes Brownell so frustrating. You can pick a set of stats and show him as our best (or one of) coach, but then look at another set and he looks like he should be summarily fired.

Fair argument, yet he has been doing this for 13 years. That is what makes it unfathomable. Even Judge and all his gang can admit that the ACC is down from previous years and is fading fast from its past glory

conference games in a season. Clemson has won 70% of its conference games twice before in history going 10-4 (Yes there were on 14 conference games even played in the 80s).

I'm glad we're 3rd, but 61st in the NET (and similar or worse in every ranking) puts it in context.

acceptable standard. 4 if you count the 3X NCAA Tourney team OP left him with. There is no way to spin that into anything "good" without being dishonest or flat out crazy. If we make the tourney this time and/or Brownell is kept on for another go-around, he should be let go next year at the first confirmation of weakness or a drop-off of any degree ... because that is the pattern that has lead to the miserable record.
And again, the other part of this debate that always kicks up is "It's not Brownell's fault. He did the best he could with extremely limited resouces and an underfunded program". Maybe, but it doesn't de-couple him from the record, and no apology or rationalizing would be necessary for moving in another direction and breathing new life into the program.
