My bet is he is currently watching every Dabo presser and reading every quote Dabo said from the 2008 season. He will mimic every word and action that Dabo took, in hopes of getting the job full time. Dabo is probably the only interim head coach to get the permanent job, and have any success- atleast in the last 15-20 years ( Ford was another). My guess is that since he (Elliott) was over the running game play calling, and they have Jack Nobody at QB, they are going to run the ball 80-85% of the time from here on. They may win a few games that they wouldn't have under Spurrier because he really liked to throw the ball- even when he knew they couldn't. I believe that most Gamecock fans and higher ups are pretty tired of the whole staff and are very unlikely to be willing to keep them barring some unbelievable turnaround. I also believe most of them (coaches) are now trying to make some connections for their next jobs, and will probably quit on this team, I also think that the players are going to completely quit on the team, and will only be out there trying to make every play themselves instead of working together which will cause the team to crumble further. I don't expect anyone to stay (players) that will have the option to leave, and Spurrier's abrupt scuttling the ship will have an effect on recruiting for atleast 2 years. When TB left it destroyed 2 full recruiting classes, even with Dabo who is a renowned recruiter, it took 2 full classes of what we could get, to finally break thru with the highly ranked and highly skilled 2011 class ( we lost future Carolina stars Holloman & Gilmore from the '09 class, maybe this time we get some that were in the fence or thinking Carolina). Carolina is back to being Carolina fellas. The reign of terror is over. This is big, really big, and it will effect this rivalry for years to come.! Enjoy it! I know I am!!

Elliot has a tougher schedule ahead of him than Dabo did.He has 3 teams in the top 15 and a red hot Vol team.Best bet, wins Vandy and the Citadel.Vandy is really a toss up.

Sounds like Spurrier surrounded himself with people just like him.

What worries me about Shawn Elliott

What if Shawn Elliott is a nice guy? What if he brings and demands respect in the program? What if he refuses to recruit thugs? What if I can't enjoy them being 4 and 2 any more? What if I can't root against the team any more? I ain't worried bout them beating Clemson. We got it going on. I think they are in our rear view mirror on the field. But it's nice to play somebody you don't like, to finish off the regular season. It's no fun to watch App state or ... get slaughtered, just sc and notre dame. It has been fun to see anybody take it to sc. What if that ends because (God forbid) Elliot is a nice guy. Could I pull against a nice guy like I pulled against the mouthiest man in football? I am worried!! What I take comfort in is, sc probably won't hire him if he is. Surely they have a policy that won't allow that.
