Serious question. If Biden wins would it be wise of him
Nov 6, 2020, 1:55 PM

to put some Republicans in his Cabinet? It might show a movement toward uniting the country which we sorely need.
If so, who would you suggest for say, Sec. of State, Commerce, or Attorney General?

He's already said he would consider that.

I don't think we will see anything like that happen.

which countries are doing what, recognizing all that for what it actually is, and assessing our resulting interests before our perceived reputations. Its an approach we hadn't had in a while.
You might disagree with him, but that doesn't make him a hack. He seems to be a very intelligent and principled person.

to defend career department officials from Trump's attacks.
He's also an ambitious partisan politician. It would be hard for him to run for political office like the Senate as a Republican if he serves in a Biden White House.

Your opinions are fine. The OP asked me for mine, I gave it.

If you intend to influence mine, nothing you have said could or should affect it. Your presentation could use some punching up.
If instead you simply don't like mine and want nothing more than to say so, I got it.

I think there are a few reasonable Republicans that might suit - but not for State or Justice - those positions are too important for that.

First of all, the sign of any good leader is one who surrounds himself or herself with people who will be honest and point out flaws in strategy. That's a Dabo.
A bad leader only wants yes men and women. That's Trump.
It absolutely would help with unity, and would likely be a gesture much needed toward the GOP so both parties can start returning to some days of at least trying to work together even if they don't agree.
And it would send a nice message to the American people.

I think so

I would like to think that I, if were in such a position, would try to find a balanced strength through pubs, dems, and independents. I would make it clear we did not have to agree on everything...but we were absolutely bound to do the best we could together and we disagreement was all we had, we would do our best to work through it. No one gets their way all of the time.

Give Romney something

The guy isn't perfect and isn't even that liked in the Republican party, but I feel he's honest and wants what's best for the country. Also, one of the only one with the gonads to go against the grain the past 4 years.

Yes. Give him a committee head position in the Senate in exchange for flipping parties. I don't see a future for him at all in today's Republican party, and he's got four years left on his term I think.

in the sense that the far right will just call them RINOs. I would hope that Biden goes with a much more qualified Cabinet regardless of party affiliation. I have said all along that his best quality is that he has no strong convictions of his own which means he could still be a successful President if he surrounds himself with the right people.
