The 6’ 5” WR from Miami who had a big game against us. Looks like his NIL deal is $115k if I found the right information. If so, that’s not the $1M for a WR like some claimed during the portal season.

He’s come a long way from Lackawana CC.

Every time I hear about an athlete getting a seven figure NIL deal I have to wonder how much truth is in that statement. Sure, some do, like Sheduer Sanders and Caleb Williams, but most don't. I honestly don't believe there's a lot of high six figure deals either.

Ohio State spent $13M on their team according to all reports and accounts. Now we know many 2nd string, 3rd string and further down the depth chart aren't getting much of anything if anything at all. That means that the 22 starters and say half of the 2nd stringers are the ones cashing in, that's 30-33 players dividing $13M. That's not allowing for many (if any) 7 figure deals. Maybe their #1 player has one, Marvin Harrison Jr. would have if he'd stayed, but that's about it.

Until it's required for schools to disclose actual NIL deals, it's pure speculation how much is truly being spent and how much most players are getting. Not talking the top top earners, but 1-2 players alone won't win you titles.

And how long are donors going to keep paying this kind of money? There's 0 return for them, even if they won the Natty.
