saw this posted on a Gator board...

Nov 9, 2013, 10:40 PM

I do believe Mr. Muschamp is in deep trouble....ok....that's an understatement....it got the Tiger Board equivalent of a gazillion likes

"I've never seen my Dad cry"

In 1980, my mother was killed but a drunk driver.

I never saw him shed a tear.

In 1985 he watched one of his children go to prison.

He never shed a tear.

In 1989 he watched his best friend get run over by a boat in the Keys while diving (I was there) and die in his arms.

He never shed a tear.

In March 2012 he was diagnosed with incurable cancer. I was there when he was told. I have been there through the chemo and all the crap the comes from having Cancer. I have watched my Dad age 20 years in less than 18 months.

We didn't expect him to live to see another season of his beloved Gators play.

He has never shed a tear.

That's just the way he is.

We haven't missed a game home or away since, though its very hard on him he knows his days are numbered,so we go. He loves his Gators.

We sat today in the same seats he has had since 1959. Just before kick off, He looked around at all the empty seats, I could tell it really bothered him. He said to me "that #### dawg has lost the Gator Nation, look at all those empty seats".

I just said "Dad, lets just you and I watch the game, we don't lose to Vandy in the Swamp and you know that !"

We sat there for almost 45 minutes after the final tick of the clock......just staring at the field, not uttering a word.

Finally he spoke, "Son, I can't do this again. These are not our Gators out there, what has that #### dawg done to our Gators? ". I could on listen.

But I noticed something in his voice I hadn't heard before.

I looked and for the first time in my life I watched tears roll down my Dads face. I watch his lips quiver as he tried to speak without letting me know he was crying.

This was most likely or last Gator game we will attend together.

I am beyond disgusted with the current staff. They have lost the Gator Nation, and even worse, they have lost the team.

Time to put the dawg down.

Go Gators

actually kinda pathetic

Nov 9, 2013, 10:42 PM

takes football way too serious

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

im rethinking this a bit

Nov 10, 2013, 12:26 AM

maybe since he has had such a tough life, gator football is a one shining light in his life and something he enjoys. And that light fading is just the straw that breaks the camels back

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

A sad story but

Nov 9, 2013, 10:43 PM

People need more than football. As much as I love my tigers my friends and family are more important to me.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

What a loser.

Nov 9, 2013, 10:43 PM

Family and friends are always more important than football.

Says the guy who has Tiger Woods as an username...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That dude needs to reevaluate his priorities in life

Nov 9, 2013, 10:44 PM

I love my Tigers, but there are more important things in life.

That's some deep stuff

Nov 9, 2013, 10:45 PM

The injuries don't help, but I do think Muschamp is best suited at simply being a D coordinator and a coordinator NOT in the state of Florida

Sounds like something a Coot would post on a rival board.

Gotta be complete BS

Nov 9, 2013, 10:59 PM

Or that is the most shallow man that has ever lived. My God, I'm not a sentimental sap, but I cried when my last dog died. I've never shed a tear over a football game. Even during the Hatfield and West years, no tears. Plenty of cursing, though...

Re: Gotta be complete BS

Nov 9, 2013, 11:35 PM

Cannot be true. No one is that shallow - no way all that happened to him and he cries at a football loss. Nice to see everyone recognize that a good portion of those cant believe stories posted on the internet are not true. Where did I hear that, the internet of course.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

God, family, and Clemson is third........friends, etc later.***

Sometimes...

Nov 9, 2013, 11:45 PM

...one cries at strange times. One may weather a very personal loss and then cry at a stupid movie moment. I think it just means grief is unleashed at strange times.

not sure that is what is in play here, but none of us really know.

Man, that is a sad story. Sounds like he just let everything build up over the years and hit a breaking point.
