Sapakoff of Post & Courier - Season Prediction/Realign Rumor

I was at a local Charleston dinner/meeting last night and Gene Sapakoff was the speaker. He spoke generally about the gamecocks, citadel, chas southern, and Clemson. He predicted 12-1 Clemson winning ACC and back in Playoff. He also mentioned that the gamecocks went 4-0 last season against Clemson, Tenn, A&M, and Kentucky. He said that wouldn't happen again. He predicted they'd go at best 7-5 and maybe 8-5 after a bowl win.

When he was done speaking he was of course asked about conference realignment. He spoke about the rumors of FSU (and Clemson), but said he didn't know of any "real" sports writer or actual sports journalist that had any hard info. He said most are just reporting what they heard from another source on twitter, etc. He would be surprised if there was any major announcement this month as has been rumored. He also said that the silence doesn't mean nothing's happening. He then mentioned that he was sure both Clemson and FSU would not be in the ACC in the next 3-4 years. Just thought I'd put this out there. He may not be everyone's favorite sports writer, but he has been a sports writer at the P&C for 37 years. He probably has some pretty decent connections inside Clemson and around the ACC/SEC.

Sap is a big time coot and SEC lover. For him to say that about the coots is not a good sign for the chickens.

Finebaum is saying on his show today that Clemson is a SEc caliber team and needs to be in the sec. Something is going on. Normally he slams Clemson.

If his prediction comes true as is I would be overjoyed. To me that means we are back and another CFP championship is soon to come. Everyone else will know it too.
