Not that there is anything wrong with that, I've done that too.

I have a set of 3 nesting side tables with similar parquet tops as yours. Kinda dated but would look a lot better refinished like that.

Get an old washcloth, wet it with some warm water. Then go wipe them dustyass baseboards down. Profit.
