I'm here in Jefferson for my first in person look at Sammy #1 Brown. I beat the Oconnee buses by about 15 minutes with no help from Google maps. (The stadium is about a mile away from the High school). The gatekeeper was nice enough to let me in before they officially opened them. And from that vantage point, I could see about half of the field. The Dragons were in the middle of padless warmups but it took me only a second or two to see a studly blonde mullet brandishing soon to be Clemson man. I spoke briefly with one of the coaches, and he assured me that the person we are getting is 5 times the player with regards to quality.
We are 25 minutes away from finding out live and in person what kind of force Mr. Brown is on the grid iron. For some reason I don't think I will be disappointed. Wish me luck on getting a few signatures after the game.

It's halftime. 30-0 Jefferson HS. 3 TD night so far for SB. The Oconnee offense is playing keep away for the mullet man.
Incidentally, I ran into Coach Godwin before the kickoff. Seemed like he was flying under the radar. We shook hands and parted ways. I wished him luck.

Well Tiger Nation, what can I say. Jefferson won 44-7 over Oconnee. Sammy had 4 TDs and came within 4 yards of getting #5 when he flirted with a pick 6. After the game, he was kind enough to sign all 4 items I had and was very polite. As polite as anyone I have ever met. And I have met 2 presidents and countless Hall of Fame members. I recorded an interview he was giving but the audio is atrocious. I understand now what David Hood and company are going through to get good sound during post game interviews. I will add Mr. Brown will be in the valley tomorrow. He is looking forward to playing with CK and CV. Oh, one more thing of interest. I'm hearing that his brother has a mean streak and may very well be a better player than his elder. Only time will tell. That's all folks!!! Have a great night, and as always GO PAWS!!!

I once got a team ball signed by the East Marietta little league world champions. They were a couple years younger than me. That was strange. Getting Sammy was not. Although, he needs to work on his signature if he's going to be a star!!
