I wonder how much roster management is affecting Clemson's trajectory. With the changes in the landscape of college football there has to be speculative pressure on coaches with regard to who plays. The sheer number of players Clemson plays (I don't think anyone has been even close to us the last decade) probably plays in our favor in the sense that coming to Clemson gives you the change to get on the field early. But at a position like QB in particular, I wonder if the concern for kids heading to the portal and thus massively hurting position depth is making coaches trigger shy. We have had lots of QB transfers and this position group is extremely delicate. It has hurt us at RB in the past too.
Just wondering if this is keeping DJ under center. I would love to open up the QB competition at least by bowl season. But I would love to see it this week. It could just be the case that if we do so, we quickly lose a QB. I know many of you would welcome that, but it is tricky and probably complicates things greatly.
