I'll bite, I will always be a Beatles guy, based on the depth and breadth of their catalogue. Love the stones too, but they basically did one thing amazingly. The Beatles hit just about every genre and created so many musical hooks and melodies that are still in use today.

Stones by a vast margin, and that is saying a lot cause the Beatles are cool too.

I like The Stones, but anyone who was around at the time will tell you that Sgt. Peppers changed everything. There probably isn't a day that at least one Beatles song doesn't play in our home and our children learned to sing along at an early age.

AMAZINGLY most of them are still alive!
Brian Jones was technically out of the band when he 'drowned'.

Beatles were very creative, melodic, harmonizing dudes that changed the world. I occasionally listen to a few of their tunes.
But the Stones are the World's Greatest Rock n Roll Band, also had their share of creative mega-hits, but what I enjoy the most are their blues and R&B tunes. I don't listen to the big hits too often, but I listen to the Stones everyday.
